Games of the day! Give us a birds eye report west metro and Sats. Thanks boys.
Eagles score at one minute mark, fluke 5 hole trickled thru
-------------
waiting for EMTs at Eden Prairie arena, where EP Hunter Johannes is in the box for a five-minute major checking Hounds Nathaniel Benson from behind. Stretcher is now arriving to take him out . Have a good thought for him everyone
-------------
It's now been about 25 minutes. Clock froze at 11.07 of the first
_________
Game has resumed
-----------------
Johannes left the arena I assume due to personal difficulty since we haven't heard a game misconduct announced
---------__
EP scores a shorty
----------------
Sogs EP 13 to 9. Kniven , actually Hounds were more physical in first 6 minutes.
---------
Don't see Johannes on the bench, play underway
----------
Just witnessed 2 minutes of Casey vs everbody
-----
Eagles score on a 3 on 2
----
Hounds score!
----
Sogs not announce yet, whAts up announcer?
-----
We are underway
-------
Hounds seemed to have Casey figured out: watch his chest not his eyes or skates
--------
Eagles score on PP with 7.30 to go
-------
Hounds down 4 to 1 with 2 to play. EP the better team today
-------
Postscript to this game. Would appreciate update from Hounds fans on Bensons injury. Turns out the penalty was boarding not CFB , and a game misconduct, even though the refs first directed him to the box after the incident

It seems EP are a bunch of thugs. I don't like EP at all. Their lazy bantam aa squad of want to be's laid out Kade Bender on an illegal hit in December as well. At least the talented privates aren't thugs like the big public squads as a whole.WestMetro wrote:waiting for EMTs at Eden Prairie arena, where EP Hunter Johannes is in the box for a five-minute major checking Hounds Nathaniel Benson from behind. Well... I just don't like kids loosing out just because someone's having a bad day and chooses to hit illegally. Playing physical is fine, great but one should know how first.northwoods oldtimer wrote:Tell us how you really feel kniven.kniven wrote:It seems EP are a bunch of thugs. I don't like EP at all. 3-2 Blaine after 2. 1st period wasn't very good for the Bengals. They let up a breakaway goal after a horrible shot by one of their defensemen. 2nd period was better but they still took too many penalties. Blaine is still dangerous shorthanded though and both Tufte and Notermann had a shorthanded goal. Tufte's was 3 on 5.
---------------------------------------
Blaine wins 6-2. Notermann with the hatty plus two assists. Tufte with two shorties and two assists.

Quick recap of the Lakeville North and Prior Lake game last night.
LVN carried the play through the first 2 periods. Prior Lake didn't sustain pressure and their offensive gameplan seemed to be to float wingers and try to get behind the defense. The wingers consistently were behind the defense but they never really too tried hard to get the puck to the open man. LVN played their typical offensive game but looked to be off by half a step. Their passes weren't quite on the mark and anticipation/reaction to open pucks was too slow.
PL scored first. LVN was breaking out of the defensive zone. The dman encountered the forecheck and kind of panicked and dropped it to Ryan Poehling. It looked like he was going off on a line change and wasn't anticipating the puck. Burggraff picked up the puck, went in all alone, then went top shelf for the goal.
LVN scored a PPG to tie it. PL had somewhat of a 2 on 1. As they entered the zone Eigner dove out (past the slot) and poke checked the pass. The poke checked puck ended up on Poehling's stick. Now it's a 3 on 1 (maybe 4 on 1) the other way. Poehling passes to Max Johnson who was the trailer and he fired it home. Nicely executed odd man rush.
In the 2nd, Poehling was called for slashing. PL generated some chances on the PP, but the puck was around center ice when the penalty expired. Poehling came out of the box, skated to the far side and grabbed the puck. He deked the defender, moved the goalie from left to right and tried to go five hole as he moved him. The goalie made the first save, but Poehling grabbed the rebound and flipped it in. Great individual effort.
As the 2nd period was coming to a close, LVN stopped the puck just before it would have been called for icing. PL gains possession. Eventually the puck gets out to the point. The defenseman fires it on net and Schulze tipped it in with 0.1 seconds left in the period. Tie game.
Prior Lake gained some momentum in the 3rd and carried the play. The final minute was exciting and there were outstanding chances for both teams. PL had a series of chances where I'm still not sure how they didn't get a shot off, but there was a wide open net. After a scramble Enebak ended up with the puck on a 2 on 1. He fired it on net but the save was made.
Chances were pretty much even in OT. Prior Lake was applying pressure and LVN gained possession. Taylor Schneider headed out of the zone and got behind the dman. A nice outlet pass hit him in stride and created a 2 on 1. The defender favored taking away the pass. Schneider got to the top of the circle and blew a wrist shot by the goalie on the glove side and just inside the post. A great goal to end a great game.
A couple other highlights. Enebak had a big check that sent a Prior Lake player into his own bench. This got the crowd fired up and gave the team a jump when they were dragging in the 3rd. Poehling and Reed Smith had a phenomenal give and go play, where Smith passed to Poehling right at the doorstep. Scites somehow slid over and made a huge pad save. Scites looked good all night.
