Grand Rapids and Duluth East. Should be another epic battle.

The attendance was good for the semifinals today but it will be absolutely packed for this final! Time for the Hounds reign to end.

Will this sellout? I am hoping to get a ticket at the door.

I'm sure the lower bowl will be packed but the upper bowl will be open.

When these two played in 2013, it was the most full I've ever seen Amsoil, and I think I was at the highest-attended UMD game ever. Not sure if they'll stop selling tickets, but it will be packed.

AMSOIL Arena didn't exist back in 03. It was still the old DECC Arena that was used. But East and Rapids did play in the section fina in 03 with East winning 2-1 in ot. Did you mean 2013?

Jesus. I was at the game but don't recall hearing the attendance number. Darn impressive!

Both these fan bases are rabid, it will be an awesome show.

This game is a 50/50. If East plays anywhere near like they did yesterday then Grand Rapids is about to be hit by a freight train on Thursday. If East plays inconsistent then the Thunder Hawks wil prevail!!

I remember seeing video highlights of last year's final. Does this mean there will be a video stream?

If Hermantown would ever grow and play with the big boys maybe you could watch it in person. Have fun Wednesday with the hundreds of fans.

1. Not a Hermantown fan
2. I would like to see Hermantown move to AA
3. I find the A games to be just as fun as the AA games
4. If I was from Hermantown, I could just drive over and see it anyway. No matter who is playing

East was good yesterday but they also looked more impressive because elk river was playing god awful. Rapids is coming to play on Thursday.

I would be surprised if this is anything but a close game. I think whoever wins the penalty battle will prevail in this one. I expect both teams to get some quality chances and I expect both net minders to play well.
Let's go with GR 4 - East 3.

Looked to me like Elk River was playing god awful because East was on them from the get-go like flies on sh--.

Grand Rapids led 1-0 with 1:30 remainig in 2011 If they had just got someone to swipe the puck away then the T-Hawks would have won then. Their goalie played very well! !

But then we wouldn't have gotten to see the 3 OT games that East played that year in the State Tournament......especially the final with EP....where number 3 on East some how dodged 3 interference penalties.

On the other hand, it might have led to WBL's first quarterfinal win in tourney history!

I believe Klatt will go with a little shorter bench this time especially with his defensemen. That should help to keep them out of the penalty box.
His top 2 lines are as good as any in the state. The 3rd line lacks the offensive threat of the others but are all Seniors and give the other teams fits all over the ice.
I will take
Grand Rapids 5-3.
