2016-17 Coach Openings

Post by ndirishfighting » Tue Mar 08, 2016 11:34 am

I see the yearly question of the next head coach starts with

Maple Grove
Sauk Center
Dodge County
Luverne
St Cloud Co-op
Rochester Mayo
Providence Academy
Hibbing
Moose Lake
Elk River
Anoka
Bloomington Kennedy

I was hoping to see White Bear Lake on this list, but that's just wish full thinking.

I would guess there has to be more than two openings. But some already have someone in mind and really don't want tons of applicants so, they don't publicize much.

It would be nice to see some coaches retire and give some aspiring coaches a chance.

That is intriguing. Any "pass their time" coaches you have in mind, and who you think might be ready for "prime-time"?

Curious who people think should be on either list.

Didn't they just get rid of Brokaw last year? And the new coach is now gone too. What's going on over there???

Hengen and staff resigned. My sources tell me it was too big of an uphill battle for them to try and build. Also told you may see his name pop up soon for another coaching position in the coming months.

Good hire for the Rails. Will be thin for a couple years but some good hockey players coming up through the youth ranks. Hopefully he can build up that program.

I see two references to Luverne in this thread but no mention in the 3A thread. More info please.

It's been rumored for over a week and Bruce Ciskie announced it on the radio this morning.

Wonder if he will be able to slow down or derail the rail line to Hermantown. Would be nice to see them have some success.

Hibbing? How long has the coach from last year been there? They've got some serious talent on the ice too.

He'd been the coach for three seasons. No idea what happened.
