You do realize that this game tonight just proves what he was saying right don't you? Two mostly evenly matched teams met tonight and the more battle tested team won. The one who was more battle tested didn't have to spend their last 5 games of the season beating up on the lower half of the Big South. The New Ulm teams that went to state three years in a row did so by being battle tested come playoff time.notTONIGHT wrote:@lord!!
Congrats to Hutchinson on a hard fought scrappy victory. Telecky will need to play as well as he did tonight for Hutch to have a chance on Monday because they're going to struggle to score.

I do realize that.
I also realize that battle tested team came in as a 5 seed.
Maybe he didn't say enough steps. Hundred steps back.

glad to see lord is still on your mind. Must be having nightmares from 2015 still? I don't blame you.notTONIGHT wrote:Wonder how many steps Luverne has gone back the lastKinda_Normal_Tendy wrote:You do realize that this game tonight just proves what he was saying right don't you? There is a reason the 3A thread is the best on this site 3 years running....old schoolers who are new members should be proud of their legacy.
I will be glued here Monday for updates if I can't make it myself to GAC. Even 7AA/8AA hockey snobs need to venture to St. Peter once, an incredible environment

The hub has the games tomorrow at 5:30 and 8:00; which makes complete sense with both earlier start times and 2.5 hours to complete the game.
Naturally the truth is MSHSL has the games slotted for 6:30 and 8:30 and I was told those are the actual scheduled game times for tomorrow. That means the Redwood/Marshall game won't start until at least 9:00.
Those Red Army and Hutch fans/parents can double check with the coaches but it looks like all involved and going will have an additional hour to enjoy a Schell light with Goldy at Patrick's after all.

Looking at the matchups tomorrow, they don't appear to be close on paper. Looking at head to head for Marshall and Redwood, it was 18-2 in favor of Marshall. The most recent tilt was 9-1 after 2 and Marshall hit the brakes. Redwood will need to ride the tender who almost had 50 saves against Litch. If the sooner gets loose watch out!
On paper Luverne and Hutch have some common opponents. Largely, these matchups are close for hutch and a wide margin of victory for Luverne. If hutch finds a way to pop a couple quick ones and gets Luverne to be selfish they have a chance.
Prediction:
Marshall 4- RWV 2
Luverne 6 - Hutch 2

Don't forget RV has a player they didn't have the first 2 meetings these teams met. Adds strength to blue line and can be very offensive when he needs to be. Second best player on the team. If Marshall scores 4 goals I think RV wins. If Marshall wins I'd look for a 8-3 or 8-4 kind of final. The longer this game is close the better chance RV has. If Marshall scores early and often it's going to snowball fast.notTONIGHT wrote:Looking at the matchups tomorrow, they don't appear to be close on paper. RV- 6 (ENG)
Marshall- 4
Hutch has played much better teams than Luverne this year, they didn't show much in those games, however I think they use their experience from playing top teams to their advantage and grind out a tough one against Luverne.
Hutch- 3
Luverne- 1
Hutch to state to end the crazy up and down year section 3A has been.

Epic match up? I know the coaching history, but that would be no match up at all. Sorry cards, I am in your corner to get there but really haven't seen anything at all that would let me believe that would be a game. But I am a GR guy so I have been wrong (many times) before. If you get there PLEASE keep it interesting.

Godly: respect your opinion but believe the Cards are 1 or 2 better. Were you just having a little fun with Whiner? But, I do understand that the Cards have shown an ability to not live up to the #1 seed!
Jonny: if Luverne plays Cathedral that may be the best draw they could hope for. Also the best chance (though slim) for an upset. I am rooting for your T-hawks to get there! Thanks for respecting what the Cards are trying to do in historically non-hockey area.

The 7AA and 8AA fans would never think of attending such a minor league event is what my senses tell me. They would consider it JV hockey at best.goldy313 wrote:There is a reason the 3A thread is the best on this site 3 years running....old schoolers who are new members should be proud of their legacy.
