I too have watched this all year and while we live in Monticello our son does not play hockey there. I personally know "the family" that seems to be topic of so much of this rhetoric. I will go so far as to say they have been involved with hockey for many years in one way or the other (kids playing, coaching etc.). If this means that they are recruiting for the organization (which is NOT the case) I guess he's guilty cause they may look for a exchange student that plays hockey and with that said I know of some that have been FLOPS so the theory goes out the door. How bout if the 4 players that were of the 10 that went to Peewee A State "The Little Moose That Could Team" were still with the team? Some left for schooling, hockey and...... does that change the dynamic a little???? KUDOS TO MAML either way!!!!! Bottom line is the team that is there is the team they are playing with and I can tell you there are many hours over MANY years that have gone into building and as we all in the area know this team and their parents have worked hard!!!!! GO MOOSE!!!!

Please tell me that this way of thinking is off!!! Please!!!! Please tell me that them bringing in 4 foreign exchange hockey players (this year alone) makes this totally obvious.

I have literally stepped into the Twilight Zone.. :(

So ugly!!! Good thing some "flopped"

There's the MAML mindset: We lost four from our state tournament team, so we're justified in recruiting Europeans.. So easy to see..

And Chisago was obviously short on good defenseman.... So they went out and found one!

I believe this just might be in the running for the best new thread as it certainly is more entertaining than the original 3A thread.
A few years back our Otter Recruiting Tavern Specialists (ORTS) scouted and selected a Finnish forward to help our powerhouse recruiting reputation. Oh and help the team also.🍺🤠

I have an idea. You move to Monticello, then build a wall to keep any foreign exchange students out because they are some bad dudes.

Your team couldn't make the section finals in a section that does not have one ranked team. Your team looked promising in the first few weeks of the season, then fell apart. I think someone in your town must have some pull with MSHSL in order to put you in such a weak section. How is is possible that a section in Minnesota that is north of the metro area, is so weak?? Who did you pay off? Why was Cathedral moved into an already stacked 6A a few years back, along with Hermantown and Proctor moving out. There is your conspiracy buddy... or maybe that is the rub?? You saw all competition moved out of your section, and thought "oooh... easy road to state". Now MAML, an unranked team, moves into your section and it ain't so easy now.

The family enjoys hockey so why wouldn't they look for a hockey player to bring in for a year?

Just a thought:

When you finish with a record of 9-16-2, lose 12 of 13 in middle of the year with a weak schedule, only beat Legacy 5-0 and lose to North Branch 7-2, I wouldn't worry about what is going on with other teams in your section. I'd probably worry about my own mess.......

I do understand why you're butt hurt with Cathedral... And in no way should Hermantown be in A.. Too

-6A and 5A are much the same.. Only difference is that much of 6A doesn't have AA and privates around that your top talent can leave to.

-5A youth programs have had 5 teams ranked in the top 10 over the last two years.. And now kids are staying!👍

The MSHSL has class A geographically perfect and 5A will strengthen greatly in the near future!

Yup, the group is wrong and you, the lone voice in the wilderness is right.

I have no issues with Cathedral in 6A. We are a tough section and it breeds better teams. However, many of our section teams have lost great players to Cathedral, Moorhead, etc, so that is a lame argument you make. 6A success and talent trumps 5A and it ain't even close. I am a big fan of North Branch, as I grew up in the area. Yet, I just think you are blowing things waaaaay out of proportion.

4 this year!! 3 were "flops".. Or didn't contribute as much as they had planned..

Sob story to drop to A.. And then amp up the recruiting to try to seal the trophy grab!! Sorry if you're mentally blind to this..

Way easier for a 5A kid to get to a stronger program... 6A stretches out to North Dakota.. Very comparable in youth.. Makes it obvious.

Now done.. :D

Proof of these 4 kids this year? It seems like year after year, they get a new foreign exchange student and sometimes they don't turn out to be the best hockey player.

Lets here the names of all the exchange students this year?

How about some facts Mr BoDang?

Who are these four recruited players?
Where did they come from?
Under what guise were they imported to put MAML over the top?

BoDang,
Yes, I have banged my fist over issues of fairness in 7AA, thank you for noticing.

Please know that in the specific situation you have indicated concern; I am merely asking for clarification regarding your issues with players that MAML has/had playing. No criticism of your concerns is intended - I am just asking those questions for the sake of clarity and to establish the facts.

Regards,
PuckDreamer!
