I like North, quicker with more skill players, but I think South will make them work for it. I think maybe 3-2 or 4-2 with and EN goal. I live in Lakeville so will be happy with either of them but I think North would do better at State as well.

I think Lakeville South gets the edge. Beating a team thrice proves to be very difficult especially when on paper the teams are fairly close. I think goaltending plays a huge factor in this one and if South gets to Eigner early it will be all but over for the Panthers.

I'm going with North. Their goaltending has been very solid and they have played/beaten some very good teams. I get that it is EXTREMELY difficult to beat a team 3 times in a season, especially a rivalry game such as this but North will prevail 5-2 with an empty netter!!

Hahaha LVN what a clown show. Does the LVN/Rosemount Co-Op go live next season?

Back to the drawing board for Coach Recruit. Maybe he will try to get a youth program going. Out done by a lesser team two years in a row. Can he even coach?

Hats off to South, they outplayed North from start to finish.....they played better team hockey, better passing, better in front of their own net. North's goalie really kept the Panthers in it, the score probably should have been 5 or 6 to 1. North just looked lost or disinterested for far to much of the game.

Good luck to South

A cool moment between the first and second period when the two bands merged and played together deserves a mention.

Very fun game to watch and be at, evenly played in the first period, then South started to take over in the second. Third period LVN got out hustled, out played and out scored, #3 for South is a tremendous player, he is tenacious and skates harder than anyone on the ice shift after shift. I really look forward to seeing this team at the X next week, I wouldn't want to play them first round.

Totally agree with all of Goldy's comments. South was just the better team last night.

First, I wouldn't say lesser teams. Both Farmington last year, and South this year are very talented teams. Second, I would suggest that Rosemount, and
Gotothenetman figure out a way to keep their players. Talk is, many will not play next year, and a few more leaving.

Tough one for north! The question now is what happens down the road, the cupboard is pretty empty at the bantam level for north so they'll need to double their efforts in player acquisition in the next couple years if they want to be a significant player in the state. As for the game, much like 2011 when two teams are fairly even its really hard to win three in a row.

How about a poll question.

Which HS team recruits the hardest

Options are

Edina

Lakeville North

Holy Family

Minnetonka

Hermantown

Well, I don't know about the rest of them, but Edina does not need to recruit. In fact, a lot of players from Edina end up going elsewhere because they do not get to be on the varsity there.

Yep, I was the South holdout. I sounded very convincing in picking them, too. :P

Let me guess, you flipped a coin. Heads was North, and tails was North.

Then the coin landed and stuck on its edge, and you had an epiphany!
