7AA for 2017-2018
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
This could be the best team ever to lose a quarterfinal game as the number 1 seed!hockey59 wrote:And as Brad Pitt said in Moneyball - "If you lose the last game of the year, nobody cares (gives a sh-t)"kniven wrote:Wow! Duluth East has 2 Mr. Hockey finalists and 12 Elite Leage players on their roster.....and a hall of fame head coach. Can you say, dominant!
I was really, really, really, really hoping their would be a chance to see Duluth East and CEC in the section final. Seeing Amsoil sol out, 10,000+ would have been a sight. Oh well. So close to my dream matchup in the dream game -the right to represent 7 AA at the Minnesota State High School hockey tournament. That’s the game I want to see before I diehadenuf wrote:IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN......(maybe)

LOL! It is at the point you stop wondering if the Elks will win 7AA, you just wonder how bad of a crash and burn it will be this time.Usthockey13 wrote:Hey they need to cater to Elk when they lose and have a long trip homeTheHockeyDJ wrote:Lame excuse. That is a long, long time. I’m thinking Elk River hockey hates being in 7AA. I hope they get out soonUsthockey13 wrote:Yes way back in 1999 with Paul Martinkniven wrote:Has Elk River ever gone to state out of 7AA?Usthockey13 wrote: Hey they need to cater to Elk when they lose and have a long trip home

Agreed, if Htown moved up I feel like they would still F Elk and move Andover. They should just move elk to 5 or 8.greenwayraider wrote:Without Hermantown opting up I can’t see Elk River having any chance of being moved. Even then seems like Andover would be the more likely candidate for a move unless MSHSL allows only eight teams in 7AA.
Not 8, we have enough commie cidiots.Usthockey13 wrote:Agreed, if Htown moved up I feel like they would still F Elk and move Andover. Be careful now. That's borderline bullying....elliott70 wrote:Not 8, we have enough commie cidiots.Usthockey13 wrote:Agreed, if Htown moved up I feel like they would still F Elk and move Andover. All within the tie breaker. Assuming ER does not gain or lose much in tonight's game.
Class
Current TM Projected TM*
AA 6.0 6.3
These are the Tiebreakers as agreed to by the MSHSL.
1 Head to Head percentage
2 Conference Record percentage (if same Conference/Sub-District)
3 Overall Record percentage
4 Section Record percentage (min number of Section games needed by 5 EACH team or #4 is skipped) Hockey - 6
use 1 then 3
then QRF then coin toss
DM lost to CEC
Overall record
Pct assuming ER wins tonight 72% if they lose 68 % if they tie 70%
DM 64%
CEC 70%
So if ER wins or ties they are the 3 seed
CEC is 4
unless ER loses then 3
DM is the 5.
You are a math wiz. Thanks for the detailed explanation.elliott70 wrote:kniven wrote:Duluth East (146. 5-1-1 20-2-3 5.4 1.9 Won 2

Interestingly yesterday Mike Randolph was quoted as saying last years top line for GR was not only better than the line with his son, Toninato, and Olson, but the most dominant line he’d ever seen in the tourney. Coming from the rival coach I think that puts to rest some crazy notion that East’s top line (good they are) is somehow on that same level as McLaughlin, Miller, and Hain.
