They are very involved in church so it makes since that they would send their kids there

It's my recollection that Bonin's old man went to Hill. The lost sheep returning to the fold.
Or maybe he just wants his kid to win a state quarterfinal game.

Lucas is Dewey's son. Brandon and Jake are cousins of Lucas.
