Is Hastings metro? I say no.
Hastings is metro.
Moorhead or Roseau so section 8 will keep the 218's alive.
Funny that you wrote off Brainerd in this thread. Not that I would ever bet on the Warriors winning anything playoff-related, but it still would be a 218 rep at least.

Spuds up 3-0 on the Hounds after two and doubling them up in shots. Looking like a long bus ride home to Duluth, both literally and figuratively.

Wow. Thanks for update. DE shouldn't even be ranked in top 10. Too much inconsistency and not getting the job done. Other teams may have slightly easier schedules but DE has lost some games that they should have one. IMHO section 8 is up for grabs with Andover as the favorite.

Setting up for the return of the 2-3 forecheck?
The 2-3 was a reaction to a very shaky defense. That really isn't the issue this season. Some different form of sorcery will be necessary...or perhaps just a simpler unleashing of some Hounds.
I swear I've seen this movie before. Who is better equipped to come up with different recipes of Sorcery than the Mad Scientist Himself? He's got the white Lab Coat on right now. East will win 7AA again this year. If it's Andover in the final, then East will have to overcome the Metro advantage of those kids having two hours on the bus to mentally prepare. Those East kids are probably at Bulldog Pizza and not focused! But I still think they will pull it off.
Will likely be able to watch Andover in the section final on TV while eating at Bulldog Pizza.

Looks like 7AA will be represented by a metro team. That really hurts. Looks like there will be a time when the AA tournament will be all Metro teams.
Is Hastings metro? I say no.
They play in a metro conference but are separated from the metro by farm land. Go to Hastings, they are their own community, sure many work in the twin cities. But the same can be said of Northfield, Faribault, Owatonna, and Mankato. If you have an implement dealer in town selling combines you can stake a claim as an outstate town. When they left the SEC they should have came to the Big Nine, they have more in common with Rochester, Owatonna, and Northfield than they do with Hill Murray, St Thomas, and the rest of that conference.

agree completely with the comment about Brainerd being very much in the mix in Section 8. I think we all also know enough to know that Duluth East will be right there in the end and that this weekend is very much likely just a learning opportunity.

Deast in all likely hood will be I &A finals (CEC if they get the 3 seed) could pull the upset.

But I cannot see anyone but Andover at the X
(barring injuries, illness and those kinds of things).

Brainerd is in the fight in 8 but beating Moorhead/Roseau back to back will be a tall order.
