Brainerd vs Duluth East

Post by elliott70 »

This will be a good test for the 'Worriers'.

See how far they come and whether they are the #1 seed in Section 8.

Duluth East a good measuring stick and rating potential for the State Tournament.

This is very interesting. Duluth East outplays every opponent they face wether they win, lose, or tie. So....East will dominate game play, no question. But will they win, lose, or tie.

They sure didn't outplay Tonka

3-1 Brainerd late in the third period. East either fixes their offensive problems or will be watching the 7AA finals on TV.

Brainerd wins 3-2. While fixing them alone won't solve the power outage, there are some curious personnel decisions being made lately.

Getting late to be trying to figure this out.

What's the deal with Lukan Hanson? Goaltending doesn't seem to be the problem, but it's odd that a kid who's been in the elite league the last two years isn't playing at all as a senior.

He's hurt right now.

That said, I'm rather baffled as to why Rabold, who's done nothing but play well to date, did not start tonight. That's not a rip on Kausch; he's got some talent and it's hard to win when you only score once, but...I don't get it.

The 2-3 was a reaction to a very shaky defense. That really isn't the issue this season. Some different form of sorcery will be necessary...or perhaps just a simpler unleashing of some Hounds.

Just hypnotize them and tell 'em every opponent is the Hilltoppers.

Looks like 7AA will be represented by a metro team. That really hurts. Looks like there will be a time when the AA tournament will be all Metro teams.

Herm 6-2 over Brainard. Shots 38-24. Looks like the only team North of Hinckley that could beat Andover is HT.
Hopefully next year.

Duluth East, Cloquet, and Grand Rapids will defend 7AA just fine. Andover will have their hands full. If they loose, which is very possible, they will blame it on Amsoil.

I swear I've seen this movie before. Who is better equipped to come up with different recipes of Sorcery than the Mad Scientist Himself? He's got the white Lab Coat on right now. East will win 7AA again this year. If it's Andover in the final, then East will have to overcome the Metro advantage of those kids having two hours on the bus to mentally prepare. Those East kids are probably at Bulldog Pizza and not focused! But I still think they will pull it off.

Moorhead or Roseau so section 8 will keep the 218's alive.
