I loaded all of Karl's PageStat Rankings into a DB a few years back and recently updated them. What you see are the totals for each team over the last 21 years.

I thought it was pretty interesting to see.

Here are my first thoughts:
The top 4 are separated by less than 2 points over 21 years.
Bloom Jefferson at #7 was a little surprising.
Other than that the top 11 seemed to be what I would expect.

Jefferson at 7 doesn’t surprise me. They have had a lot of very dominant years and many strong years. It is only fairly recent that their quality has dipped.

It would be more interesting if we had all the indicators that go into producing these rankings. Obviously, overall record for the 21 year period is not the only factor taken into consideration when compiling this list. What else goes into it?

Just a small detail, but they're not Karl's PageStat ratings. They're mine.

mnmouth, when you speak of "factors", what do you mean? How are PageStat ratings calculated? The FAQ is posted on the minnhock.com website on the PageStat page.

Sorry - by factors I mean what went in to this particular listing. Overall records? Playoffs? State tournament records?? Overall goals scored??? If the same as PageStat, then I can check out the FAQs myself.

It appears that it was just a simple adding of each team's final PageStat rating for each year.

Teams ranked higher than I would expect:
Breck (#1 A team, well above HT, uh oh)
Burnsville
Roseville
Hibbing
Forest Lake

Teams ranked lower than I would expect:
Hermantown
STA
Mahtomedi (Unranked)
CDH (Unranked)

They've been supbar for nearly a decade. I'd expect them to fall out of the Top 10 soon. And while Burnsville perhaps never reached as many highs as BJ I am surprised there's that much separation between those 2.

[edit]Looking back they were solid/great '08-'09 and '09-'10 but otherwise 119-108-17 since 2006.

Sorry Lee :(

And you are correct, it was simply adding up every ones year-end final ranking from PageStat

Coach Kivihalme and da Burnsville Braves have consistently had one of if not the toughest schedules in the state over the last 15 years

They never should been pulled out of section 1 and if they weren't moved, the program would have made many more trips to St paul with some very talented teams
