Bobby Orr Brink highlights (YouTube time-stamped goals)

Post by JerseyDave » Tue Mar 20, 2018 4:59 pm

I've been going through Minnetonka games from this season available on YouTube, pinpointing some goals by Bobby Brink. Ultimately, I'd like to compile a highlight video from the clips below and any others I find. Even if you're not a Tonka fan, Brink is a fun player to watch with some nifty moves.

A few thoughts on Brink's sophomore season and his goals linked above:

* Even in the goals I omitted, they were all below the hash marks. I omitted goals where Brink simply redirected loose pucks (or passes) into the net.
* Uncanny ability to win one-on-one battles with defenders/goalie while maintaining possession of the puck.
* Did not score many goals early in the season but was consistent with assists all season. According to my research on Hockey Hub, the Holy Family sectional final was the only game Brink did not score any points (goals or assists) when he played. He didn't score against Hermantown, but I don't think he played (injury from Schwan's Cup final). Hockey Hub does not show any points for Brink from the Moorhead game, but this video highlight does:
http://www.kvrr.com/2017/12/16/spuds-ho ... innetonka/
* Sophomore linemate Teddy Lagerback actually scored more goals than Brink during the regular season (17-13). Lagerback also scored the crucial game-tying goal with 3.2 seconds against Holy Family in the 2AA sectional final. The Brink-Bayless-Lagerback line will all return next season (assuming no defections).
* From what I remember during the state tourney, Brink put on a skating and puck possession exhibition at one point, maybe while his team was doing a line change? I paid for the full tourney streaming package from grandstadium.tv but there are no replays available so I am going from memory. I'd like to add something like that if I do a highlight video.

Really fun to watch these goals from Bobby thanks for posting! I watched him play about 20 times this year and kept coming away from each game saying he is the best player in the state. Also think he is a better player as a sophomore than Casey Mittelstadt was in his sophomore year (i know thats a bold statement)! Time will tell who has a better career between the two but for now the future looks bright for both! I hope Bobby sticks in High School thru his senior year I love watching talent like that!

Thanks. Not a bad project to work on while snowed in again on the east coast. Most credit goes to State of Hockey and KSTP for their videos available online.

Here's a good article about Brink committing to Denver as a freshman:

While you're there, there are also articles on Loheit and Luedtke's college commitments:
