Looking good Proctor! Nice work Kniven.

Are you headed to the #612/#763/#952 on Saturday to see your beloved #218'ers take on the USA-17' boys?

I am not sure yet. Probably not, but you never know. It's nice to know that the U17 game will be streamed online. I sure would like to see 218 and their game against Shattuck.

Conversions - not 100% on the school rink, the city rink has been converted, the youth hockey rink was built that way as will the second youth hockey rink and Sanford rink was built that way.

The new youth hockey rink is funded by donations and two large grants (gifts) from two local foundations. No tax $ unless you count rental agreement with the school.

Just to piggyback on this, the Alexandria Area Hockey Association and the North Star Christian Academy have worked out an agreement to allow AAHA to use the North Star rink for tournaments and practices. That gives Alex three rinks at their disposal.

The North Star Academy has an open house this Sunday from 4-7. I hope to get over and take a look. Looking at pictures from their first game, it appears to be all standing room (ice level and upper level), no bleachers.

Not sure where this will put the push for a third sheet at the RCC?

Well done Minnesota Section 7 and 8 hockey communities! Amazing only 10 short years after the financial crash that hockey parents and sponsors can round up that kind of capital to keep rejuvenating infrastructure . ( Seems as if it’s about the only kind of infrastructure replacement that is keeping up nowadays . )

Wondering when STMA will be opening?

You need to come to the '612 flatland' this week so we can breakdown the following topics:

- The Opener Tourney featuring: CEC, LN, MTKA and STA
- St. Louis Park Holiday Tourney featuring: BSM, CEC, ER, HF, LS, MG, MTKA, and WAY
- 7A & 7AA, specifically GW vs HERM and the pending 3-way rumble between AND, CEC, and DE

There is much work to be done and time is of the essence!

Great work Proctor - that rink is gorgeous and you did it right! "If you build it, they will come." Hopefully - they get rewarded with hosting some youth state tournaments, HS Thanksgving/Holiday Tourneys, etc. Too nice of a facility not to!

Breakdown's are for KarlEast. I am just a huge fan of Minnesota State High School Hockey and 218 puck. I don't know much about the x's and o's of high school hockey - just what I see (effort, heart, focus, will, team, etc. )

Barney Rebel and Fred Flinstone are impressive skaters. David Banner is a nice player too. Steve Austin can really inspire his teammates with his play.

Flintstone--There is a reason why they call him "twinkletoes"
Banner-- nice player, but you won't like him when he is angry
Austin-- there are about 6 million reason why he is the man.
Rubble--nothing special. most people can't even remember his name

Well, blueblood, maybe we will cross paths in the 612, 651, on this Thursday after Santa. This game will be very interesting that is for sure. I've watched our current high school pucksters duel it out plenty of times with your tonka boys in peewee and bantam levels. Hold on to your hats, it's gonna be a rough ride!!!!!

Regarding Alexandria Rinks:

3rd sheet at the RCC is in a holding pattern for now, at least until the next round of statewide bonding. It is still being explored as a public/private partnership. It is great to have access to the ice at Northstar, and it is a very nice facility for ice and indoor turf. As FCA Hockey programming grows, the need for an additional rink will be prevalent once again. Basically, in terms of the youth organization, we have a bandaid in place to get us through the next 3-5 years. The best thing this winter is all of our teams now host a home tournament, something only a few could claim last year.

This was the first official hockey game in the new Proctor arena. Bantam A hockey vs. Superior (WI). It was nice to finally see hockey being played in the new arena.
