Big win for Marshall and a pretty bad loss for LDC, though at least outside of the section.

Not sure that is a big win. 49 shots for ldc to 19 in their loss .. LDC had an impressive game with Holy Family just 2 days before with their back up tender and one of their best D man out with injury. . LDC had many more scoring opportunities as well. ... while Marshall got walloped to a lowly MN River.

Perhaps that comment is tongue in cheek.
MN River perhaps not contending for top 10 ranking but by all accounts a decent hockey squad.

Maybe the whole post was toungue in cheek?... Or just disorganized sensitivity... I don’t think anyone is writing LDC off.

I don’t think big was used to mean the win was a big margin or a big surprise, but it had pretty big implications, season sweep likely locks in a top couple seed with no chance of falling behind New Ulm in seeding, whereas a New Ulm win could have opened up any number of possibilities depending on a couple more ‘big’ results, biggest being LDC in a couple weeks.

If it ends up this way litch and new ulm should be a good semi match up.
Other than possibly
Luverne over Hutch I can't see any other upsets.

Marshall was in the X five or six years ago but Litch has been there 4 or 5 maybe 6 times so I am hoping to see Marshall there.
Of course New Ulm could change all that (and perhaps Hutch.

A fairly bad New Prague team putting Hutch in running time plus luverne handily beating LDC makes this section more wide open than I thought.

Although Luverne's talent in terms of skating is down, they make up for it with great coaching as you can see it in their team play, sharp passes and shoot to score mentality. Litchfield was down 1 or 2 men most of the 3rd period after an end of 2nd period major penalty and 10 minute misconduct (pretty bad call by the officials - wasn't even a penalty... 2 min at the most) and multiple 3rd period penalties allowed Luverne to skate by with an easy win although outshot 52 - 38. Luverne probably would have won this even without the penalties. LDC looks horribly disorganized 5 - 5, no passing, dump & chase hockey with meaningless shots. Only bright spot for LDC is that their Power play was pretty solid with nothing to show.
