Several good games involving teams near the tail end of the Class A rankings. The SWC-Richfield vs Waconia game is also an interesting 2A contest between teams that have been surprisingly good in the early going.

SWC-Richfield is going to be a tough opponent this year with that goalie of theirs.

Waconia 1, SWC-Richfield 0 after 1.
Shots 12-3 in favor of Waconia. SWC-R could barely break out of their zone.

Edit: 4-0 Waconia final. They were clearly the better team from what I saw.

Camerawork is terrible. Take some Dramamine to cope with shakiness if you plan to watch. SWC-R goalie Haugen looks legit, though it’s hard to follow the action. I may dip in later for another update.

Rosemount is leading Chaska 4-1 with about 11 minutes to go in a mild surprise.

Empty netter made it 5-2 for the final.

I know this isn’t a great ER team, but that’s still a surprising loss.

Was 1-1 after one period, with East looking very sloppy in back and taking a lot of shots from far out; a showing like that will not end well against Andover on Saturday. The second period was all East, as they ground away and finally popped in three, and in the 3rd they put the game into cruise control. Still lots of player and line rotation for the Hounds, and Konrad Kausch got his first start in net (and even got an assist in the process). Donovan had a dominant night but needs to hit the net with his shots.

Bemdiji was disciplined defensively and got a great night from Broc Waldhausen in goal, as the second period could've snowballed into something much worse. And, not news to anyone in Bemidji, but Hunter Olson is a nice player.

Mound-Westonka 4-2 (ENG) over Rochester Lourdes (Hub score is incorrect).

I watched a decent chunk of the game, and didn’t come away particularly impressed with either team. Pretty chippy on both sides. MWT took some particularly bad penalties, but Lourdes PP was very ineffective.

Jonathan Jones has as many points as Ricky Lyle and Ryder Donovan, so I hope they are done tinkering.

Lyle spent some time on the second line during game 1, all of game 2, and started there tonight. Got out back together with Donovan and Baker tonight. Had some very pretty passing from that line for the 4th goal with 4 seconds left.

Not sure why the kid was demoted but Randolph has a reason for everything. We will see how they play on Saturday. I’m not looking for a win out of east. Not a very deep team this year.

DE was likely looking ahead to Andover on Saturday (a bit). Andover shut out Champlain Park 4-0 tonight. Expecting a GREAT GAME on Saturday at Andover Community Center! ☝️

The CP goalie (Boyton) made 57 saves last night after the Huskies fired 61 shots on goal.

Final 8-1.
I watched this game online. The SLP goalie Pinney had some nice saves, but even so, Tonka scored less a minute into the game. The poor guy had no chance as Tonka dominated puck possession. Tonka even scored short-handed off a faceoff in the SLP zone. The lone SLP goal was on a power play in the third period to make the score 7-1. The SLP student section chanted "Mr. Hockey" at the guy who scored. Then Tonka scored again. Then Luedtke and a SLP player got in a shoving match, and about four minutes ticked off the clock (running time) as the referees sorted out penalties. Tonka is now 4-0 and has outscored its opponents 24-3 to start the season.
