Can't wait to see Garrett Pinoniemi and Matt Gleason play each other January 26. Best juniors in the state in my opinion without Brink.

I HATE that Hermantown plays Single A (as I’ve opined on ad nasium) That said, I rate Biondi above Gleason & Pinoneimi (as an overall player) And if there is a better sophomore than Joey Pierce in the State, I’m not sure who that’d be.

Kyle Kukkonen from MG IMHO, no disrespect to JP, but Kukks should at least be in the same conversation.

Yeah, he’s off to a great start, he’s the better end of a package deal for Michigan Tech ☝️Heard from a good source that Pierce has already visited several schools, he can play forward or D very effectively. Whoever lands him will have done well!

Agreed on Biondi. Best Junior in state. Best two-way player, best future? Fun to watch.

Let's face it, scoring leaders doesn't mean much if your competition is really bad. Lots of inflated numbers here towards the top of this list.

Aside from Holy Family and possibly Roseau, who has a notably weak schedule on the list? Most of these top teams have faced pretty stout early season competition.

Should have said couple of inflated numbers.

I thought I’d note that Huglen scored 4 points (1G 3A) in Roseau’s game against Moorhead which is a lot of points against a pretty good team.

This is a difficult topic with strength of schedule playing a big part as well as some players seem to get handed assists if they where on the ice even if they did not touch the puck.

Curious how Maddox Fleming is in every list but yours!

No way you missed him by accident.

He really can’t make it more clear that it’s top scorers of top 20 teams (or 25 depending on which list you’re looking at from this thread). Fleming may be a great player from a great city south of 494 with a lot of points but as of now he isn’t on a team in the top 20. Relax. If Rochester is as great as you think they’ll be he’ll be there by the end of the year and all will be right with the world.

Top 20 is subjective
Mayo has yet to lose
Blake is a top 20 team?

100% agree.
Blake is probably somewhere around top 20 given crazy parity this year.
You can argue top 20 or top 25 all you want on Karl’s posts each week, but the point of WM’s posts of Top 20 team’s scorers is that they are scorers from Top 20 teams. Just assuming for him that he’s trying to prevent the SOS issues that arise typically when you add non-top 20 teams. Are there errors both in top 20 rankings and in that some players on top 20 teams are still beneficiaries of easy schedules? Yes. And are there great players on non-top 20 teams? Also yes. But the point of the post is what it is. No point in arguing it.

Yet you argue it

Mayo plays a weak schedule so do a lot of the players on a top 20 teams. The SEC is top heavy, Holy Family gets to beat up some bad teams.

It is what it is,westmetro made a decision to neglect a top scorer. He can name his own argument as to why.

Why even ask about Blake being in the Top 20? There is no one from Blake on the last list published.
