Yes, semis and finals are held at Gustavus in St. Peter. FWIW, Don Roberts was the longtime (30+ years) coach of the Gusties. Really nice guy, and interestingly never played hockey at any level himself.

Thanks, I thought so but in years past it has been listed as the GAC. St. Peter plays in 1A so I wasn’t sure if 3A had moved it to a 3A site. FWIW the 3A final in that small arena is a sight to be seen if you are a fan of high school hockey....while not in quality of play it beats any game played at Marriucci in atmosphere.

Hibbing deserved a better fate. To have to face Hermantown if you win is discouraging.

Wow. I don't know how you can put North Shore ahead of Hibbing. 4 of NS's 7 wins came vs Ely and Proctor. Both teams beat Eveleth, but Hibbing also beat Virginia, had a much tougher schedule than NS, and...Hibbing beat NS 4-1 two weeks ago!!!

Perhaps Denfeld and Greenway conspired to keep them in the Hermantown half of the bracket?

I don’t know what logic was used but it was flawed. Believe me I wanted Hibbing at #7 so they could play Denfeld.

Officially, Virginia is the #4 seed. Eveleth is #5. The original post is incorrect.

Makes way more sense. Greenway put Eveleth in running time tonight 8-2.

You have no idea on how hard I am pulling for Greenway to make the state tournament this year

It would be a huge upset but I will say Greenway is the best below .500 (12-13) A team in the state.
