North Branch

Post by MrBoDangles »

4:00am alarm clocks to take a bus many miles for 45 minute practices at Chisago and then all the way back for full days of school... Talk about beating the odds of even having a program and now having stamped their ticket to the X!

Proud!!!

When I went to high school at North Branch there was no program ('86). Our hockey players drove to Pine City (I think) if they wanted to play high school hockey. I remember bumping into a classmate at a regional youth tournament a few years back and it was great to see them have some success and hear how the program had grown. Looking forward to watching them at the X. Congrats to the players, families and coaches of this team and congrats to the youth hockey volunteers who have sweated mightily to build the program! Rooting for you boys!

And the Vikings are a young team that probably is a year ahead of schedule. Almost all of the scoring comes from their sophomore class, with Croal and Kirchner being particularly dangerous. Although they graduate a good chunk of their D corps, don’t be surprised if they are back at the X over the next few years.

And it’s amazing to think that North Branch has produced elite talents like Hunter Miska and Brady Meyer. Imagine if the latter had decided to forego the USHL and was on this year’s team!

Many others currently leading or playing key roles at other
programs that used to play their youth hockey at North Branch.. Talented group.
