As many opinions here as those who have commented. Other than the first game (Sloane Martin & Mark Parrish) I think they all did a commendable job.
Re: McLeod, W. Shaver & Matvick To Call Tourney
I don't think McLeod will be doing it again anytime soon after getting pulled.
Re: McLeod, W. Shaver & Matvick To Call Tourney
No complaints here with the announcers.

Knee jerk reaction to a comment that shouldn't have been offensive to anyone... The uneducated folks at KSTP need a major history lesson and should really apologize.
Maybe the producers are from NEW YORK CITY!!?!! And we should GET A ROPE!!!
Announcers are going to have to caution away from "Got Whipped" too or it could be generalized as only coming from one period of time in ALL of history..
Nuts!!!

KSTP's article does not say he was banned, only that he was pulled from the broadcast:

McLeod has apologized. It was a stupid remark.

Re: McLeod, W. Shaver & Matvick To Call Tourney
changing the subject just a little
I love listening to Lou Nanne...Could sit for hours and listen to his stories. One issue I have is if you're forced to listen to the audio only (maybe driving or maybe on a small handheld) it appears the two of them are telling to many stories versus announcing play by play.
I know that's not Lou's role but Erickson sometimes gets to caught up telling stories or talking about "what just happened" versus announcing the play by play
Again not heavily critical on this but just an observation. I'd rather have a more "radio" play by play announcer focusing on calling the play real time versus a two man team spending that time having a conversation with each other
Anyone else notice this or am I sniffing glue (again)

They overreacted in a huge way because they only know the term lynching in one way.buttonupyrovercoat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2019 9:22 am KSTP's article does not say he was banned, only that he was pulled from the broadcast:

McLeod has apologized. It was a stupid remark.
McLeod probably felt "mortified" because they took it that way and felt he had to say sorry..
Or do you think he's a white guy thinking about a hangin?

"One way"? I really have no idea what you're getting at. Lynching is hanging, pull out a dictionary.
And, yes, I would expect most "white guys" would know the history of lynching in this country.
As I said, a dumb remark. He apologized and I'm fine with moving on.

So your definition of lynching is only racist?buttonupyrovercoat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2019 10:42 am "One way"? I really have no idea what you're getting at. Lynching is hanging, pull out a dictionary.

You obviously don't know the entire world/U.S. history of lynching
Maybe a tad vulgar, but not racist at all!! A knee jerk reaction by others like you...

Can you point out where I said that?
Here's what you said: "Or do you think he's a white guy thinking about a hangin?"
What does that even mean?
I'm only too familiar with the sordid history of lynching in this country. And yes, a central part of that history is the racist killing of African Americans.
Of course there's a proud tradition of non-racist extrajudicial killings as well.
Good luck with your battle here. A stupid remark, an apology. I'm here for the hockey.

Sorry you don't have the brain capacity to wrap your head around it, but at least you realize it's not racist by definition..buttonupyrovercoat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2019 11:02 am Can you point out where I said that?

Anybody that's watched a old west movie understands it's common lingo.
Knee jerk reaction and kstp should apologize to McCleod!

Ad hominem. Excellent work. I envy your superior intellect.
Forum readers: MrBoDingleberries hereby declares lynching is non-racist. Woe to anyone who questions his towering brain pan!
I'm out with this nonsense. As noted above by another poster, the vehement responses by some posters here is a tell.

I just feel like it could have been dealt with in a more respectable way.. He wasn't being racist in any way..buttonupyrovercoat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2019 11:09 am Ad hominem. Excellent work. I envy your superior intellect.
