Fun game, and a welcome break from the prior 2 and a half games of predictable hockey. Delano was a tough matchup in some ways for Greenway, but when their top kids get rolling, they almost always seem to finish eventually. The Raiders are a fun team to watch, but will have to tighten up in back to beat Mahtomedi...just a few too many moments of softness in front of the net. I have the same critique of East Grand, too. At any rate, Friday morning should be fun if the two northern squads can tighten things up at all. They have the skill to run with Cathedral and Mahtomedi, and physical play will help the cause, too.

Quick question, and maybe I missed it on TV last night, but was their a story to the purple that Delano was wearing? Almost all the players had purple skate laces and the fans were dressed in purple. I figured there must be something behind it. Thanks!

"Tragedy struck Delano last weekend when senior Marleena Anna Dieterich died in an automobile crash. Her favorite color was purple and Tigers’ players, coaches and fans wore it in tribute. Coaches wore purple neckties and players tied their skates with purple laces."

Since he has such love for his alma mater, is he recruiting any of them? Or is he using his platform to puff up a program that has done nothing outside of this year?
