Sorry if this had already been covered- Is this the first playoff game Flake has hosted?
They also hosted last season, but got "upset" by Elk River.

To Forest Lake's credit, they brought a very good crowd; you could tell one side of the arena was excited to be in this game, and the other was just sort of nervous about it. East's very passive forecheck, which was their Hail Mary for giving Andover a good game, just didn't generate much of anything and left the team looking pretty anemic. When the 5-minute major started, I told Danny that if they didn't score there, the season was over. Sure enough, Flake took the lead not long thereafter.

It'll be a weird Saturday at Amsoil, but I'll be there nonetheless. Credit to Flake for pulling it off.

It will be weird at Amsoil Saturday minus the Hounds playing at their home away from home rink 😉 GR vs surging ER should shape up to be a close game. But Lee in Orange...that might be even weirder to see...

Different kind of year for sure. It will be a very different semi final Saturday. A few thoughts-

Andover is looking the part of the heavy favorite. Especially with their nemesis East out of the picture.

After starting out 5-5-1 Rapids is 13-2 while giving up 12 goals. Pretty impressive.

Elk River found a way to get a hard earned win in OT over a very good Cloquet team. They will be ready to go Saturday.

Congrats to Forest Lake for getting a huge win and giving themselves a meeting with the Huskies.

As a longtime fan of the Orange and Black I also must say this. It’s not so shocking that Duluth East had a sub .500 season this year. What is shocking is that it took about 65 years to happen.

Congrats to the Greyhounds on a run that will probably never be duplicated. =D>

A potential game at Fogerty would give the 7AA southern schools an unfair advantage [-X

Should be the last season at Amsoil in 2020.
DM and CEC are good as gone for 2021.
Make 7AA all south section and move East and Rapids over to Section 8.
That is what needs to be done. Pop a brain cell MSHSL and get er done =D>

Roseau
Moorhead
Bemidji
Brainerd
East
Rapids

DONE!!!!

Should be interesting nobody can blame bus legs with these four teams. Saturday might be a little empty but Thursday I would guess that they almost fill the lower bull , unless somehow forest lake beats Andover in a bigger miracle then 1980 then I would say half full lower bull. I would guess for sure Rapids brings a decent crowd Saturday not sure on some of the teams it’s hard to judge teams that play on one sided rinks.

I see nothing wrong with an East fan cheering for GR. Cheering for Cloquet would not be acceptable.

Cec will still be AA and as for DM who knows they are saying possible co op with Proctor/Move down to A. No one knows for sure yet. Also next year will be year 2 of this 2 years alignment. After next season will be another small section movement

I assume he means they will either cease to exist as a program (Marshall) or move to Class A? That seems like a big leap of logic for CEC, though.

Also, you can’t have a section with fewer than eight teams, so you would need to throw St. Cloud and someone else in the mix for the “northern” section.

That's not true. 2014-2017 section 2AA only had 7 teams

DM to single A
Love to add CEC to make it 7!!
Another obvious team will go unnamed so as not to derail 7AA chatter. #-o
