Keep in mind...this is North American only (US and Canada)

We have to merge in the International Ranking to get a good sense of where our Minnesota boys could end up being drafted

Does anyone know is the International pool as a strong?

How many notches do these kids typically slide once the international players are factored in?

Ethan Haider seems to be the only Minnesota goalie at #11 (of 30) for NA GOALIES.

I remember Lou Nanne saying on the radio when Ben Brinkman was a high school junior that he is a 1st round NHL pick, probably top 1/2 of the first round. What happened?

What happened is that you somehow believed that Lou could have a remotely objective opinion regarding an Edina player

While I maintain that Brinkman hurt his draft stock with a mediocre freshman season, he was never realistically a first round talent.

One of the highlights in this category is the rise of LaCombe. From NO ONE’s radar a couple years ago to being on the edge of the 1st round. Late bloomer who grew up in EP, moved and played AAA out in Los Angeles then to Shattuck for his Bantam and High School career. Growing 7/8 inches and 40lbs Since 9/10th grade also helps..! Excellent skating and puck handling skills- with a laser shot.

He’s a great story. Didn’t make the Chaska-Chan Bantam AA team as an 8th grader (the likes of which had Koster, Drew Helleson, and not on the central scouting list but Nebraska Omaha commit Blaine Warnert). Didn’t give up and focused on achieving the dream. I’m sure he’d be the first to say that this year’s draft isn’t the end goal either!

Incredible that the top 3 Minnesotan kids and 5 in the top 100 on the final CSS list came through at least several years of Chaska Chan system and Breakaway . Big tribute to coaches out there

Superstar touting his nephew in his 1st post in years - Miss those posts touting the EP/HF Goalie

While some say Lacombe "didn't give up", he did. Got cut, quit, and Dad found another place to play.

He's the next Bellows- at best

True adding in Brink and Pitlick. I believe all five of them attended Breakaway Academy.

Anything wrong with touting the Nephew? I think not. He certainly deserves it. Great kid with an even brighter future.

He did find places to play-don’t see anything wrong with that at all and why in the world do you care so much- quit with your whining, Sound like a jealous fool. Typical Minnesota hockey Dad-can’t stand others success and want to try and bash people’s kid. Outstanding.

Have no idea what the Bellows comment means. Another disparaging undertone reference from you, I’m sure. Keep it up with negative jabs your 2 for2!

I missed the forum, what can I say. Thanks for the welcome back..

BB wasn't ready. Called it last April. 17 year old? 18 in October as season started and a senior in HS? D1 puck? Hmmm...

SLOW. DOWN. And he did...just on the ice, unfortunately. Showed up to off-season workouts 15lbs heavier and placed on strict diet and workout regimen once the summer program in Dinkytown kicked in. Good kid, good talent. But now you have to add in HARD WORK, and EARN IT...maybe his god-given talents made it almost 'too easy' for him as a youth player?

You look at the paths others in his class took and yes, knowing all are different, but Silianoff? FULL year in Juniors during this past year as a HS senior.
Jensen? Stayed at EP and now in NAHL helping the Magicians. Going to U as a 18/19 yr old. and that might even be a year early.

Wish BB the best...one step at a time though and each paved w/ blood and sweat. So, drop the cake, pick up the humble pie and spend summer working on a landscaping crew or maybe as a longshoreman up in Duluth harbor. Not sayin', just sayin'. Scouts were watching. They always are...

Look at it how you want. I see it as he got cut, thought he deserved differently, worked hard, and now he’s going to be an NHL draft pick. Everybody’s path is different, and his is unique. Where you see a “quitter” I see a kid who, granted had the financial means that many others don’t, but never quit on his dreams. As long as he keeps working as hard as he has the last few years, his future is very bright.

Classy.
Unlike Bellows, he can skate and is willing to play both ends of the rink. Bellows is the biggest minus player on the Bridgeport team by a wide margin.

Brink very possibly got aced out of last first round spot by family buddy, fellow USHL Star ,and future Gopher Ryan Johnson

Saturday ought to peel off maybe 6 Minnesotans in rounds 2 and 3 , and many more after that
