It can depend if you have the right advisor...WestMetro wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 3:27 pm Well said MinnScout
I’m particularly puzzled how Stramel can be at NatCamp and trying out for HS Elite League at the same time , Im assuming he didn’t get auto acceptance as a freshman (although maybe deserving )
Not to mention being listed on main BEL roster
pending further developments

They sold GA months ago. And BS is going back to Gentry - U16 team.thefatcat wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 4:24 pmSomeone with a kid at GA told me that there's a possibility he goes to the GA high school team...which seems crazy to me. You'd be paying the same $ to go to either GA or STA, as far as education goes I'd have to believe STA is much better.
With the GA owner's kids heading to Michigan for NTDP and Little Caesars I can't see them holding on to that place...they basically started it for their kids because most associations weren't fans of them...just jealous naturally

Wow, I guess I'll eat crow on that one to some extent, I was talking about him playing Gentry HS, but I suppose the U16 team could be decent. Although they won't have the Lucius brothers and I think a few others were also leaving including their goalie?BP wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:28 amThey sold GA months ago. They did not sell GA, it is now a charter school. Yes, there will be a Gentry U16 team, which last I heard is where BS is playing next season along with the core of the U15 team including the younger brother. 2 departs to NDTP and one of the goalies heading out east (the other tender split time and is a very solid goalie). While they may not be the #1 team in the nation without the departing players, they should still easily be top 10 and maybe top 5 depending on whom else is added to the roster.InThePipes wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 8:58 amWow, I guess I'll eat crow on that one to some extent, I was talking about him playing Gentry HS, but I suppose the U16 team could be decent. Unless it changed - young bro is going to Little Caesars next year. But again, that may have changed.MWS coach wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2019 9:41 amThey did not sell GA, it is now a charter school. Word on the street is that Caspers was not present at TG's scrimmage yesterday, did this transfer hit the brakes?BeauKnowsHockey wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 5:42 amThat would sting for Marshall as Caspers was announced as one of their captains for 19-20 at the end of their season.

Assuming that’s true - about time it doesn’t happen! Barring a legit family move; finish where you start or move to a different league if you want a better challenge (NAHL/USHL/Tier1).
Pino didn’t need to move and Delano would still be an A force to be reckoned with (like last year). Same with Huber etc. Just my two cents.

I hear you, but the schedule strength differences are obviously notable. Now was Pino going to be fine wherever he would have chosen to play, yes. Is that statement the same for everyone, probably not.612hockeytown wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:52 pm Assuming that’s true - about time it doesn’t happen! Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Caspers was at EL tryouts. Had the sweet orange and white pads. Those aren't cheap I hear from goalie dads.
If you move and have to compete for a spot, why move?
Guessing he'll be a captain at Marshall and play all of the games. Closer to he I29 corridor of USHL market/scouting (SF, SS, OM, LN, FG)
Stay with your buddies for senior year- smart decision.

I believe others were referring to Wheaton.
You knew about Shantz all along!

Speaking of Goalies...
How about the Big Pick Up of EGF getting Austin Cooley to move across the border to play with them.
Played on Team North Dakota for 2 Years and last year was very good for the U16 Sioux Falls Jr. Stampede.
Big RECRUIT by the Greenwave... 8A will be very tough but HF and Tonka, not the only ones reaching for out of state kids these days!

Cooley played JV for EGF last year, we did not recruit him, ND doesn't allow players to return to High School after playing at AAA.ClassAGuy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 7:17 am Speaking of Goalies...

HUGE get for EGF this coming winter I didn't realize he was on the JV last year still is an IMPORT from Grand Forks, ND. Much like the Nick Lund kid, they got to help put them over the top in 8A and get to the Tourney in 2016-17.BleedGreen5 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 8:50 amCooley played JV for EGF last year, we did not recruit him, ND doesn't allow players to return to High School after playing at AAA.ClassAGuy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 7:17 am Speaking of Goalies...

I think adding this kid in the net makes the Greenwave my sleeper to win it all in Class "A". They lead the way with FIVE kids in Elite League for Class A programs and I thought last year goaltending was suspect at times. With the tough hard-nosed style they play and Cooley coming in within the pipes first time in a long time EGF will have really good goaltending. A very nice addition for them and I really think the Greenwave will be a very tough out come playoffs. 8A is ULTRA tough this year, however, with Cooley and tough defense and great coaching watch out for EGF!

Yes, Jeff Panzer family moving to EGF
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
Wow EGF is the new Hermantown on the WEST in Class A. Huge adds with Jaksen Panzer and Austin Cooley being imported from North Dakota. Panzer will be a 9th grader this year and is already a North Dakota Commit. Put up 118 points as Bantam in Grand Forks last year across the border another huge get for the Greenwave. EGF looks like an early Favorite in Class A.

Can’t make it up
His mom still lives in Marshall. Dad hasn’t moved. “Better competition” must be the golden ticket. Go play tier 1 or juniors. I digress. Tonka bringing goalies from Dallas - so a sign of the times.
Re: Transfers for 2019-20 season
On the Elite League roster - it has Marshall. There is another goalie on the list for the Goalie St. Cloud camp that isn't going to the HS next to his name. I'd venture to say the Elite League roster is more accurate.

So you're suggesting that he registered for the camp as attending TG and then changed his mind and is staying at Marshall?
