Biggest clue of this being true was Blueblood saying it wasn’t his hometown team, and then went suddenly quiet on this thread when, according to Westy’s timeline, he direct messaged the person whose hometown team the kid was on. Or it’s just a coincidence!
Where do you think Blueblood's hometown is? Not tonka, that was his kids and now where he is a part of.
Sorry. Didn’t mean as in where he grew up. Just meant the team he is a part of it follows. Regardless, if indeed it is Motzko, I would tend to agree with a poster above who said it’s not a bombshell. He’s a very good player and it will hurt a Tonka team who lost a decent amount and help SCC. But he is not (yet) a game breaker IMO.

Westy’s big move is Motzko is going back to St. Cloud Cathedral.
I am probably in the minority but I don't view this as a bombshell.
bomb·shell
noun
1. an overwhelming surprise or disappointment.
"the news came as a bombshell"
2. a very attractive woman.
"a twenty-year-old blonde bombshell"

This post caught FIRE given the number of replies and views. Great stuff.
Anyone else have some info/speculation on movement (outside of Westmetro's tidbit)?

Hearing from a good source that Motzko is indeed going back to SCC. Dont know if that's what WestMetro is eluding to or not? Aligns to what others on this forum are hearing as well.

Motzko, the next Kittleson? I hope not, that is sad stuff to watch. GB

I’m not sure why that would be sad. We are talking about a kid who was forced to move away from his high school due to a parent changing jobs. Being uprooted like that, and the adjustment to a large public school had to be difficult. If he wants to return and graduate with his longtime friends, I don’t see how that is problematic.

How would a player transfer back to his original school and be eligible? I know people play the fake residence game - but this is a bit visible for the general public. Would the family have to change their residence back to St. Cloud?

The change in residence rule is only marginally applicable to private schools, and any move outside of the current school district would enable the student to become immediately eligible at any private school. So a, ahem, hypothetical family could move from Minnetonka to, say, Maple Grove, and then enroll in St. Cloud Cathedral (or Breck or BSM, for that matter) in the fall.

Heard rumors of that too, sounds like a possible eastward move in the north metro? If it happens, I'd classify this movement more in the "bombshell" category.

So the Carls brothers are leaving Coon Rapids and going to Centennial. Big pick up for the Cougars

If the rumors are true, 2 scorers to a young squad with a pretty good back end and a couple good forwards of their own... would think 3 horse race gets a little closer.

Did Mack attend SCC all the way up?

A reliable source now tells me both West Metro YHH Top 5 Bantam Stars will enroll at their city’s public high schools , much to chagrin of some private school coaches and certain posters on this thread . Since they are Bantams , will not name them here til school year begins

The MSHSL’s rules are very specific about transfers and eligibility. The one that families seem to manipulate is the residence change rule. The rule applies to all schools in the state – private, public and even those not in the league (SSM). A kid’s whole family has to move to a residence outside of their current district in order to be eligible under that exception. However, this exception gets abused all over the place for many sports and the MSHSL turns a blind eye. But let’s be real – paying rent and a mortgage and pretending to live somewhere for a few months is only for those who can afford it. This practice is especially bad in the Section 6 private schools. Interesting that those school are now potential state contenders. You’d think the MSHSL would want to at least try and appear credible and fair about how rules are followed in the state. But that might be expecting too much of an organization that’s probably as political as the next. In the end the rules are so tight that people resort to desperate measures. Why not just give a kid a one-time transfer option with no penalty?
