Can't wait to see the results of that first Warroad vs EGF game. Should be a doozy.

Cant wait until Warroad has to play a decent team on non-Olympic ice that other teams don't practice on every day

Warroad has gotten off to a nice start and it helps they have been home. Its a tough place to play.

They will be challenged tonight. Dont overlook TRF. Tonight should be a very good contest.

Yeah, I'm just not convinced on TRF yet. Everyone is saying the same thing about them, but I wasn't that impressed. Maybe the 1.5 periods of hockey I saw them play wasn't a good example of their potential. We will see.

Traditionally, TRF seems to get stronger as the year goes on. They are very well coached, and play their system well.

Where's 5-0-0 St. Paul Johnson? Shutting out the #6 team in their home barn isn't enough to get them in the top 20 ahead of sub .500 teams?

I'm rooting for SP Johnson this year and will be on their bandwagon (unless they hopefully play Denfeld). Having a "city" team go to state would be great for the game and growth of the game.
I'm assuming based on the moniker that you're a St Paul guy? What is the back story on this group? Is this mostly that JCNSP strong youth group (that stuck together)? Did they have any "defections" to HM, CDH, STA?

I'm not an "insider" by any means, but they made back-to-back appearances in the Pee Wee A state tournament title game (won in 2017), and those kids have finally arrived, so yes, they've been together for a while. This year's team isn't as big as some Govs teams of the past, but they're quick, and they've got a couple of nifty goal scorers. The question for them was always going to be between the pipes, but so far, so good. Tobin Florhaug has played in 3 career games (including the shutout in TRF) and given up 1 goal (power play in which the defender fell down leaving him with no chance) on 71 shots. That won't continue, of course, but it's a good way to start a career, and hopefully a confidence builder for the kid, because the goal scoring should be there.

Excellent points. For me personally, I think we make the section quarterfinals in 7AA enough. And when we don’t, we have fun competing at any rate. Shea Walters and his staff are in their second year in a row, and it’s good. I think this duo will be at the helm at CEC for awhile. .
