Hutchinson vs Warroad

Post by elliott70 »

Hutchinson
Led by senior forward Austin Jozwick and senior forward Blake Schmidt and senior forward Hayden Jensen.
Hutchinson is coached by Matt Telecky.

Warroad
Led by senior Mr. Hockey finalist Grant Slukynsky and the state’s top-scoring freshman in Jayson Shaugabay (27 goals, 61 points). Zach Foster is strong in goal.
Warroad is coached by Jay Hardwick.

Can anyone stop the offense of Warroad?

I think this is the only unseeded team that keeps it interesting. 6-3 Warroad with an empty netter.

My question is : can anyone open up Warroad's defense and goalie?
I do have this one as a possible trap.

I’m glad the state has the opportunity to see #27 and #17 for themselves. They are two very gifted players who hopefully have long careers in front of them.

Normally these blowout quarterfinals bore me, but the play from Slukynsky and Shaugabay yesterday kept me glued throughout. They looked like they could basically score at will against Hutchinson. Seeing them match up against deeper, better teams later this week is going to be the thrill of this Class A Tourney.
