Oakland on the deflection MG cuts Blake lead to 5-4. Then #19 of MG ties it at 5-5 ☝️7 minutes to go in 3rd period. Heck of an entertaining game to watch.

Thought it might be done at 5-3. So much for thinking. What a blast this is to watch!

That back ref should never touch the ice again. What a joke.

Nice officiating. That should NEVER be called that late in a game. Absolute joke. That ref should not touch the ice again.

I agreed with the delay of game call, not the slashing.

Great game with couple of terrible calls at the end ruin it. It was fine to have the whistles put away most of the game, but then call those two calls at the end of the game. TERRIBLE. And I have no dog in this fight. MG deserved better

Got the raw end of the deal on all calls in that game.

If you think it prevented a goal and he wasn't pushed, you have to call that penalty. In real-time I thought it should've been delay of game too, but he was for sure pushed after looking at the replay. Surprised one ref didn't see the push though.

I'm not really talking about the delay of game call. The slashing call was an absolute disgrace.

Not a chance. Also you have to call the two missed holding calls on Blake a few minutes before then. At that point you swallow your whistle unless someone is hauled down on a breakaway or it is a bad check from behind.

Pretty weak “push”. The MG player extended his arms. It may have been self preservation, but that made the call easy for the officials. It was the right call.

Disclaimer: I really did not care who won the game. I have no dog in the entire field. It was a great game. MG played an amazing game with a dominant forecheck. Blake had one line that was heads and shoulders above the rest.

I agree. Easy to see why it was called in real-time. That slash though.. oofta. Poorly reffed game down the stretch that had way too much of an impact on the game.

Except that the stick came down with force mid way up the other guy's stick and forced it out of his hands.
Not sure I would have it called, but was a slash.

A very similar pattern from the Section final with several critical calls going the Bears' way there too--including 3rd/tying goal, and no checking from behind call seconds before the breakaway that gave rise to penalty shot.
Ice seems to be "tilted" Blake's way in this respect--sets up for them to go a little farther than one might have suspected if it continues....

I agree with the majority - horrible slash call at the end of the game - 3:15 to play...put the whistle's away and let the players decide the outcome. Feel bad for the Maple Grove players, they deserve better. Refs forced their way into this game and helped decide the outcome, hate to see that in a state tournament game.
