Anyone have clout with the MSHSL or Channel 45?
With all the old games on right now, can we get some old high school games on Channel 45? There are so many great games people would love to see. I'm sure they would get an audience if they promoted them well. Not just hockey but basketball and football as well. Is there a reason this can't happen?

Great idea. If the MSHSL would cooperate, obviously it certainly would have many viewers. From all years of the tournaments, not just since 45 took over.Brodziak Fan Club wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 9:28 pmWith all the old games on right now, can we get some old high school games on Channel 45? Not exactly sure why it's so difficult to find a way to see these games. Makes sense that if folks in Minnesota would watch old NCAA basketball/hockey, NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB games, they would also tune in to past high school games. However, I don't recall any high school games for any sport being re-run since the 60s or 70s when high school basketball and hockey games started being televised. Perhaps a combination of the MSHSL and the TV stations that broadcast the games not allowing a re-broadcast??

FSN has replayed the Hockey Day Minnesota games during the summers. So it can happen. Just don't often see it in the state tournaments. But it would be fun for them to do some...mnmouth wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 6:45 amI brought a very similar topic up a few weeks ago:

If memory serves, the first tournament game ever broadcast was the 1969 final. I'd like to see that, mostly because I'd like to see the production values.

I'm not sure when the tourney was first broadcast but I remember watching I Falls winning the state so I'm guessing early 60's or before. Same channel that broadcast the basketball tourney

I believe Elliot is right. I know for sure the 1960 game (East won) was only on the radio. Not positive on 1961 (Roseau) but pretty sure that was not on TV either.

It wasn’t on tv. I listened to it on the radio.greenwayraider wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 8:20 pmI believe Elliot is right. I know for sure the 1960 game (East won) was only on the radio. Not positive on 1961 (Roseau) but pretty sure that was not on TV either.

First games were broadcast in 1956.
I do not remember that.
Then they started again in 1961 and have been continuous since then.
My first memory is 1962.
