This is an interesting section with 3 teams capable of claiming the title and trio to State
Ep - runners up last two seasons. Went to state as Bantam AA’s In 2018 finishing 2nd to MG
PL - excellent Jr. class. Went to state as Bantam AA’s in 2019
Tonka - deep senior class. Went to state as Bantam AA’s in 2018 finishing 3rd.
2AA outlook

Re: 2AA outlook
Minnetonka has the benefit of great depth and a lack of super high end guys that are flight risks. Big question mark is goaltending.
PL similar story but with two very high end goalies.
EP is the opposite. Lots of potential for guys who are doing before/after to pull a Bobby Brink/Blake McLaughlin and end up stay full year juniors. Without going down the forbidden rabbit hole there are obvious factors this year that could impact that decision. With what sounds like another move in, goalie doesn’t appear to be an issue.

Agree with BB.
PL made a heckof a run late last year.
Tonka- Im assuming Hendy and Hupka will skate varsity to bolster the solid returning core
EP- MSHSL decision will impact which of the returning D1 kids if any might be early departs
Chaska- Hurt by early departure of Snugs to NTDP. Hearing star Bantam Ziemer might go to SSM, but on other hand Bantam Sam Scheetz has really outperformed expectations in Bantam Elite League.
As everywhere else, things are very fluid.

Yes, Chaska loses some really good seniors and Snuggerud plus potentially Burkholder depending on MSHSL season, but they do return ‘05 goalie who played every game and brought them to 3-2 EP loss in section finals, plus a pretty strong core of players who were bantam state runner ups in 2019 and peewee state champions in 2017 (Fechko was also on peewee team). Bantams Scheetz and Bruender two big time players who, like some of Minnetonka’s bantams, could go either way in what level they play this season.WestMetro wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 10:37 am Agree with BB.
