I take it that White Bear Lake lost once AGAIN to Hill-Murray in the sectional final.

Really looking forward to this game. Two hard working well coached teams. First goal is huge and best keeper will lead team to second round. I know cliche and obvious statement. I don’t think the game will be much different than their first meeting. Wayzata Has a soph goalie who has played pretty well all year. He has not stolen a game to my recollection. He does not need to steal this game as wayzata has the forward and defensive talent to let the keeper just do his thing. Penalties/special teams and a solid first period to get thru the jitters will go a long way. Enjoy the ride boys! GB

I know, I was surprised the Bears were able to sneak past that 4 win Woodbury squad.

Wayzata is a very good team, but Hill is a bit better. If Erickson in goal for Hill can play big, I see Hill winning this game. If a couple of sketchy, deflection-type goals get through, Wayzata has the defensive chops to hold Hill down and win.
Of course looking forward to this game. I can’t recall (and I’m too lazy to look up) the last time Hill played the early game. I seem to recall watching Hill play Maple Grove during a day game a few years back. I grabbed my lunch from Walkin Dog DT Minneapolis and watched the game on the big screen they had in the North Star Center
Hill 3
Wayzata 2

The City of Hill Murray is beautiful this time of year

I think you are right, it was the Maple Grove game. That was still at the fair grounds, because we stayed to watch Blaine play Maple Grove and that game was something like 9-0. Maple Grove made their first tournament and came in hot. Was that the tournament all the underdogs won the first round? When we lost to Benilde in the finals? Sorry to bring that tournament up to my East friends. I know that one was painful.BlueLineSpecial wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 12:54 pm Wayzata is a very good team, but Hill is a bit better. Wayzata in a no contest is the way it looks right now.

Hill's JV hasn't played in over a month. I'm sure they'd suit up. They were undefeated this year, but I doubt they could challenge Wayzata. But that would be better than a no contest.tourneytickssince59 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 5:42 pm Wayzata in a no contest is the way it looks right now.

The whole thing is a joke. The kids do as asked, where masks, show up last minute then boom, you were on the same ice as someone that tested positive. All 20 boys on the other bench, in the other lockerroom must sit out. Seems counter to some of the 'science' out there.Sparlimb wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 6:07 pmHill's JV hasn't played in over a month. I'm sure they'd suit up. I haven't followed ice hockey in this bizarre season, so thanks for the info.East Side Pioneer Guy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 10:06 amI know, I was surprised the Bears were able to sneak past that 4 win Woodbury squad.
But, if Hill-Murray JV have to play Wayzata varsity due to Covid exposure from a WBL player, maybe WBL beat them after all?

Yep. The complaining is now spreading out to other topics. I'm shutting this one down.
We may need to start a thread about the State League along the same lines as the Hermantown thread.
