Some perspective on EGF with 8 loses:
2 to Section 8 AA Champ Moorhead
1 to Section 8AA #1 Seed Roseau
1 to Section 8A #1 Seed Moorhead
4 to very very good AA quality ND schools GF Central (2) & GF Red River (2) firat few games of the season. Those teams were 2 months into their season.

This team is battle tested and their record is not an indication of their potential

I think "Potential" is the key word with EGF. They have the talent to compete with the # 1 and #2 seeds. The question I have is can they play to that potential? (which I think they struggled with at times the past two seasons). Their 4-8 record against "quality opponents" this season is a bit of a red flag to me, but their tough schedule should have them ready as anyone in the A State Tournament. Beating Warroad in the 8A finals is a good step. I am looking forward to the potential match-up with Gentry.

Bingo, bango, bongo. Buy this man a beer. Gentry is better than any opponent EGF has faced so far, including Moorhead, and the Wave will get run out of the building if they don’t play with focus and discipline. There is plenty of top end talent on the Green Wave roster, but there are also some flaws that have plagued them all season, most notably in net. I am hoping for a competitive semifinal, but not holding my breath.

Very fair! Have not seen Gentry play and know absolutely nothing about them. I'm just saying EGF has been overlooked much of the season due to their record, which no other A team comes close to in strength of schedule. Greenwaves record is misleading and have the components to run the table at state.

Educate me (not being sarcastic), what other A schools have faced the quality opponents EGF has faced? warroad, roseau (2 wins, 1 loss each), TRF (3 wins) fargo davis, fargo south (both wins very early in the season). "Quality opponents" is very debatable but have I have become very familiar with ND teams the past 10 years and davis, south,.central & RR are very strong programs when comparing to single A Mn schools.

Defense (goaltending) certainly appears to be an issue, but they have played a schedule unlike any other team in A, and i would argue as good as 95 percent of any AA school this year with covid modified schedules. .

Im too lazy to confirm this but did see a tweet that they have outshot every team they have faced this season. Impressive given their schedule.

Hopeful my alma mater plays to their "potential" this week and brings back a championship!!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone enjoys some great HS hockey this week!!!!!!!!!!!
