Re: Games Friday Dec 3
Single A vs decent AA teams does not get me too excited.
If they win, great they build some excitement. If they lose ah shucks we were supposed to lose.
Now if they were playing Maht or Delano or Orono or SCC or Monticello then they would be on the list.

Gentry 5-1 over Denfeld @ 12:00 period 2. Denfeld just scored otherwise Gentry is as good as advertised scoring sh. Denfeld can't get out of it's own end.
7-1 after 2.
9-2 final.
Gentry 2 sh goals. Seemed to play the same whether full strength or not. A nose for the puck too.

After two:
Mahtomedi 3, EGF 0
Shots 25–13 Green wave
Such a weird game. EGF played an absolutely dominant first, outshooting Maht 17-4, but they haven’t been able to solve Dardis at all. Zephyrs then come out and pop three in the 2nd, two in the early going, to take total control. I can’t tell whether EGF is all hat, no cattle, or Dardis is simply that much of a force in net. Probably some mixture of both.

Yikes, and Denfeld signed up for two beatings from Gentry, as did a few other teams. Looks like Gentry filled out their schedule with several out of state teams, which may be some of their tougher competition.raidergrad72 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 7:49 pm Gentry 5-1 over Denfeld @ 12:00 period 2. Re: Games Friday Dec 3
Week goaltending and mediocre D for the Green Wave. Too bad because they are pretty strong up front.Stang5280 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 8:25 pm After two:

What is a Green Wave anyway?
Re: Games Friday Dec 3
Hibbing wins 4-1
Shots 20-19 RR
Hibbing in control, up 4-0, then they decided to inexplicably start taking penalties, leading to a RR 5-on-3 goal and a surge in energy for the Wolverines. Hibbing looked like the better team most of the game, RR had very few scoring chances and Hibbing's goalie was rock solid. Really surprised RR isn't better than they are, but I suppose melding two hated rivals together might take some time to gel.

Shots 40-19 Wave
Like TT said, EGF is basically half of a team at this point, and they are in trouble if the offense can’t produce.

Hermantown 2. After 2
All Hawks until late in the period. Then two quick goals by the Red Knights.
Ty Hansen for the Hawks. Risteau and Marshall for the Red Knights.
Sarsland having a hell of of game.

Re: Games Friday Dec 3
BSM has some serious speed up front, and Hermantown has committed some ugly turnovers leading to odd-man rushes. Maybe some first game rust and jitters, but still uncharacteristic for the Hawks.SEC Scotty wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:43 pm BSM 4

Gentry plays Hermantown & Grand Rapids back to back in Jan. so that'll be a test for 'em.

Hermantown 6
BSM 5 Final
Great game with very few penalties. Hawks were better most of the night outshooting the Red Knights by a wide margin. Their top line of the Plantes and Kohanski was buzzing all night with Zam Plante getting the hatty and game winner with a minute left. Best game this year so far.

Re: Games Friday Dec 3
BSM Htown was fantastic . Could turn out to be best game of the year . BSM was outshot 2:1 but goalie kept them in game . Htown is much deeper than my impression going in, thought they’d drop off from last year , but they have lots of good talent behind Zam, Max and Ty H.
On Zams GWG , BSM had 3 guys near him on that rush but none could stop him, he got off a tough angle backhand and beat the goalie who was screened by his own teammates .
Today’s HT matchup against Hill will be interesting, last time they met was Feb 2020 with a Joey Pierce led domination game
