It was scheduled to be streamed on the "Hibbing Sports" YouTube channel, but it now says "cancelled" in the video title.

LiveBarn is locked for the Roseville/Highland Park JV game, probably the same for the Varsity game.

The Varsity game isn’t locked on LiveBarn for Highland Park @ Roseville.

Hibbing 1 Grand Rapids 1 After 2 periods

Shots 25-20 in favor of GR

GR controlled the 1st period but Hibbing with a goal early in the second carried the play but GR's goal near the end of the period gave them a good spark.

Good hockey game for November 23rd sloppy but teams playing hard up north fun to watch!

Didn't get to see the game. Any overall thoughts on it?

Despite the loss, I think this game is certainly something Hibbing can build off of. Boyer saving 33-35 is excellent. 8)

Overall I liked Hibbing and I believe they are top 20 Class A team for sure this winter. You noted before and I saw last night through they don't have an elite scorer to help them separate in games. They are gonna have a lot of battles like last night where they are tied in a low scoring game heading to the third period. Boyer was very good in the net and overall Hibbing played a good hockey game.

Grand Rapids controlled the pace in the first and third periods but when Hibbing scored early in the 2nd they did have some good jump. Ultimately, Grand Rapids was just the better hockey team and were more crisp and deep than Hibbing. However, if the Bluejackets don't take a late third period penalty this game could have easily ended in a tie the way Boyer was playing in the nets. A special team goal was the difference in the end, sound familiar rainier2?

I may be a bit high on Hibbing at 11 but they are in the Top 15. I want to see Rock Ridge, Denfeld and Proctor play but the 2-5 battle in 7A will be good one. Bottom line Hibbing has a good team with veteran lineup and 3 year guy in net I like them this winter to win around 15-18 games and be in a battle for the 2 seed.

They will have another mighty test on Saturday with a good AA White Bear Lake coming up north. I will be curious to see how they hold up with a deeper metro lineup team. I didn't realize all that talent they have is still at the Bantam level this year. Hibbing is a team to keep on eye on moving forward they will be Top 10 once that group is in high school.

Just again some early season thoughts it only game #1.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the recap! 8)

Hibbing will need to get by on dirty, greasy, gritty goals this year. Although, GR likely has the best d-corps/goalie combo Hibbing will see this year (except possibly Herm), so perhaps some more offensive production will come.

One other note mentioned on the broadcast last night Hibbing plays 17 of the 25 game schedule at home this winter! WOW I think there are lots of things to like about this Senior heavy team!

Also, one player I liked on Hibbing up front #26 Senior Keeghan Fink had some really good boots with jump in his step all night on the ice! Caught my eye a few times on the broadcast.

Agree on Grand Rapids being one of the better teams they will see. The GR top line of Davis, Mortenson (who got banged up in the 2nd period), and Drennen gave Hibbing trouble and as I am sure the Northern folks on here know Sr. Stauffer , Jr. Murphy, and youngster Rolhoff on the blueline for Rapids are outstanding very fun players to watch and so crisp and calm in their end and on outlets and just very gifted D. Although Hibbing's goal did come off of turnover by the young Rolhoff boy on the side wall which was created by hard work and was just one of those greasy and gritty rebound goal by crashing the net so again there was a ton of positives for Hibbing.
