Wadena-Deer Creek is open.

I was thinking that might happen with his oldest graduating and WDC is really going to struggle with numbers.... Hope they keep the program alive they survived the Tornado that took out their rink before... Hoping the Wolverines keep going!

I feel like this quote from the WDC coach probably speaks a bit to what many high school coaches are in the midst of (emphasis added):

“I still enjoy practice, games, bus rides, hanging out with the guys, etc.," Woods explained. "Those things can cause burnout for some coaches, but not for me. It's all the extra work and stressors that come with coaching that takes its toll over time. The day-to-day issues, good and bad, seem to have gotten more time-consuming over the years. It's not an easy decision when you still have the passion to work with the guys to compete, improve and teach life skills."

I read that as on the ice he's willing, off the ice he's done.

Wisconsin will be better in a couple of years after Hastings gets the 24 year olds in the system. Mankato on the other hand, done.

One name i think for Brainerd would be Jerr Johnson he is a hometown legend and did get STMA to it's only State Tourney appearance in his long tenure there. I know his son was the team this year as they moved back to Brainerd. One name I could see fitting into that position.

I've heard Jerr as well or the current girls coach as potential candidates.

As expected I would not anticipate too much changing as Mr. Anderson had been the associate head coach the last few years i believe as Sager slowly transitioned the program to him.

Best of Luck Chris!

Wow, should be a lot more exciting with Sager gone. Time to instill some new systems.
Best of luck to Chris Anderson
