I was reviewing the top 10 rankings this morning and thought to myself ho-hum... looks pretty much like the last 10 years. Plus or minus teams here and there but overall? not much difference.
Is it time for the MSHSL to consider a 3AAA Level instead of what is seemingly a waste of time for most 2AA and 1A schools to try to compete?
With the MSHSL doing very little to curb player movement at the highest level what's the satisfaction for HS Hockey Fans to see Minnetonka (as the easiest current example) with so many D-1 commits not coming up through Tonka winning it again? Many teams are notorious for bringing in recruits to compete and ruining the HS experience for kids that came up through the system.
Seems like this is not a good thing for the sport overall... furthermore it seems like the MSHSL could care less.
what a shame
