When the Red Army was dominating the Olympics year-in and year-out in the 60's, 70's & 80's ... they most definately didn't have the best section in the world arena. Canada did. Yet ... Canada very rarely brought home the gold. What good is top to bottom if your top can't get the job done? According to Angus and MediaBlind's logic ... Stich - The fact that you think that BIAFP and myself are one and the same is getting a bit old. I mean, that is like me saying that you, and say, VideoScout are one and the same when it should be obvious to all that you are not. Besides, you can tell by the prose and grammar used, that I am way smarter than Bader. Keep on searchin' - maybe I'll see you @ Sheps with Kranky and the crew - who knows, maybe I already have. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"> And another thing, how do you know the Soviets didn't have the 10 best hockey teams in the world during the era you discuss above? I'm pretty sure not even you could prove that argument as the Red Army team was the showcase for them. But to compare the world stage to the high school "Regions" is a bit of a stretch. I don't think most on this finest of forums, with the exception of a few delusional ones, would think that 8AA or 8A are the cream of the crop when it comes to section strength. Using your logic, I guess we'll see who is the strongest come March.
