I know the 2000's and the 1999's are a full go.BadgerBob82 wrote:I just heard about this program. Any information from those involved as to how it's working out?
The 2000's played their first games f the season last weekend sweeping the Green Bay Jr Gamblers all three games 4-2, 5-3, 3-1 and this years Gamblers are a very big physical team so that is a pretty good result.
The 1999's also played their first games against the Affton American's 1999 AA team. They won two and lost one against them. 7-2, 4-5, and 4-3 in OT.... don't know much about the '99 Affton Americans so not sure how good or not good that result is

The 2000 and 1999 MN kids on the Revolution could team up with the three kids playing for the Madison Capitols and the kid playing for the KC Jr Mavs and they could buy ice and have their own practicesboomerang wrote:I think those players made their choice and should live with it. They also have the option of purchasing their own ice time or going to open hockey if their kids still want to play hockey with their friends.

Revolution Tier 1
As a parent of a Revolution player I find it sad to see all of the inaccurate information people have posted on here about this program (from the price of the program, to where we practice and how it's supposedly folding after the first year). I would encourage you to refrain from posting until you have the correct information....and unless you are a parent of a player on the team, a coach of a Revolution team or a director of the program I am guessing you will have little to nothing to post.

Revolution Tier I
I guess I'm curious as to this model - and forgive me if I'm wrong - but is Revolution a tournament-only/part-time option for the fall/winter season? Is this a new thing in general?
I'm seeing more of this, with super/all-star teams pooling together for a few fall practice weekends, and a 2-3 tournaments.....all while steering clear of their players' Tier II club schedules.
Not sure about Revolution, but that's the model for the Florida Alliance.
Seems like what used to only be a Spring/Summer thing has crept into the hockey season too.

Revolution Tier 1
Revolution is not a team that only comes together in the fall for a few tournaments. They are a group of players who have opted not to play with their local associations. They practice together and play together in tournaments all winter long. It is not like the FL Alliance where they are allowed (and required) to play in their local associations and then a few of them merge to form a team who only do 3-4 major tournaments a year together.
Well, speaking of facts, the 04 Revolution team has at least one player rostered for an Iowa team during this season, in addition to the Revolution. He was in a tourney in Fairmont a few weeks ago and had some of his Revolution gear with him. Not sure that busy of a schedule is good for an 04 kid. Outside this one, it looks to be mostly a Miracle Gold team.

Revolution
Check the web site 2112 (DN Chanhassen). As you repeatedly call him, Yuri is not even the head coach. Craig Woodcroft is at the helm. This will quiet some of the "over zealous" parents!!

Re: Revolution Tier I AAA Hockey
So you two kids that play for an Elite high school team.imlisteningtothefnsong wrote:I do not have a dog in this scrap, but I do think this is a unique option. As a dad of 4, I have as most of you have, spent countless hours watching the practices. As I watched the endless hours of Russian circles, I wondered how those damn Russians got so good, and my kids still suck. Then I thought, maybe they really don't do Russian circles in Russia. So I ventured out tried some AAA teams in town and decided to stick with Northern Edge. I have taken many ?'s on why we have stayed... Big fish, little pond...etc. Yes, it has been true some years our teams are not winning tourneys. The reality is I don't give a rip, each year my boys have improved in their skating, stick handling, and game sense. This has been true for all the players who have stuck around a few summers. Now if you take this same coaching staff and start with some advanced players, they will be a very competitive team. I hope with all the AAA teams out there that many will come out and give this a shot. The players that make this team will improve and go back to their summer programs and make them better. The ones that come out for a year, and go back to their associations, will hopefully contribute there as well. I have questions like many of you do as well. Tier I is popular all over the country, just not here. I fully understand the value of community based hockey. However for me, my community celebrated diversity so much that we ran out of hockey players. I was fortunate to have options for my boys. It was said earlier, 60 bucks is pretty cheap to have Jr come out and skate, while we ask our questions. After 9 years of NE I can promise no Russian circles. I hope to see some of you at the rink!
Who do they play during the season?
What is their record?
Any chance on making State for either player in their high school career?

Here you go lilgretzky!! NO apology, no my boys do not play at an elite highschool, and no they will not appear in the MN state tourney.... But, if they stay healthy, keep making good decisions and work harder than the guy skating next to them, you will be able to follow them in juniors some where because you seem very interested in who and where they play for!!

Dear Revolution families,
Hope this note finds everyone well and enjoying their hockey season. I wanted to update you on the status of our initiatives to develop Tier 1 Hockey in the State of Minnesota. After lengthy strategy sessions, we decided to take a parallel approach focusing on team structure while utilizing legal resources to help guide us through the Tier 1 process with the State. We will be fielding teams for the 2014-2015 season for 00-05 birth years. Open tryout information will be communicated very soon.
