i would personaly have to keep an eye on the district 15 players, ikno most of alexandrias, and brainerds players r 92s, includeing their goalie, brandon wing, their whole first line besides bren smith, jordan posch, and TAZ, and if u dont kno him watch out...hes a beast

These are invites to tryouts which can not be held until after the Mn Hockey state tournaments, usually 40 skayers plus goaliesand H.S players who qualify are invited. The cut is then made to 18 skaters and 2 goalies plus 1 alt at f,d,g. Each district has a team from 240 the cut is 102 plus goalies. My numbers are fairly close. The next cut is to 18 skaters,2 goalies plus 2 alt at each pos.

In The Paint, the few times i've heard the coach talk about that team he always metions that there are no superstars and that the team is not afraid of hard work which some would agree is more valuable. These players you mentioned are good from what i've seen but don't get ahead of yourself, i'd be suprised if half made the select 15's. Good luck on your northern run.

2007 Minnesota Advanced Programs
Minnesota Advanced 15 (born in 1992)

Phase 1 (March 19 – April 2, 2007)
District Trials/Team Selection (Cost $70 per candidate plus $30 for those not registered with USAH)
Each MH District (12) will invite a minimum of 40 candidates to participate in the trials to determine the 20 players to be selected to represent each district at the Advanced 15 Spring Festival. Each candidate will receive 4 hours of ice time and a participant jersey. Total number of players invited 480.

Players unregistered with MH/USA Hockey will be required to pay an additional one time $40 registration fee and complete a USA Hockey Individual Member Registration (IMR) form for insurance purposes.

Phase 2 (March 19 – April 2, 2007)
District Team Selection/Preparation
20 players selected from trials to district team Each team is allowed two hours of ice time for pre- event practice/preparation.

Phase 3 (completed by April 14, 2007)
Seeding Round
Four divisions of three teams each play a round robin preliminary two game schedule. The top two finishers in each division are seeded into an eight-team event with each team playing three games. The third place finishers are placed in a four- team round robin event also playing three games each.

Phase 4 (April 21-22, 2007)
Minnesota Hockey Spring Festival: New Hope Arenas
(Cost per player $125, includes Phases 2, 3, & 4)
One 8 -team event (1st & 2nd from each preliminary division). Each team plays three games. One 4- team event (3rd place team from each preliminary division). Each team plays three games. Player Evaluation: A team of knowledgeable coaches and scouts will evaluate all participants, consult with team coaches and select the top 102 players for participation in the Minnesota Hockey Summer Advanced 15 Festival. Alternates will also be chosen and placed if there are participant turndowns.

Phase 5 (June 16-21, 2007)
Minnesota Hockey Summer Festival, St. Cloud State
(Cost per player $525)
Expense of this festival is shared equally by the participants and is based on actual cost less grants received from Minnesota Hockey (MH) and USA Hockey. 102 selected players participate in a weeklong training camp at St. Cloud State University and the National Hockey Center. Housing and meals are provided. Six teams play a round robin schedule of games, attend dry land training sessions, weight training sessions and classroom sessions daily.

The staff at the Summer Festival includes prominent college, high school, and youth coaches teamed with current and former college and professional hockey players to serve as coaches, role models, and counselors for each team. College Division 1 and 3 coaches and a representative from the Minnesota Wild address the players and staff following dinner each night.

The HS coach nominates his players and they would go to the tryouts of the youth hockey district that the parents live in.

This is very political at this age group. I think they take the kids with HS experiance just because it makes thier job easier. One or two bantams might make thier way through. I don't think some put much effort in looking for the best talent. If you do get nominated...go, have fun, make some new friends and give it your best effort. Don't go and take the experiance for granted, give your best effort and don't think your hockey career is over if you don't make the cut. The thing I hate about it is if you have a late birthday you are S.O.L. 90% of the kids that get picked are early year birthdays.

Obviously this is primarily true if you're talking about kids playing HS at big programs. Small schools always pull less gifted kids up early. The sad thing is, while a younger kid on varsity provides a nice honor to brag about, sitting on the bench for 25 games vs playing every 2nd or 3rd shift for 50-60-70 games as a high-end Bantam A doesn't do the player a lot of good.

Check the minnesota hockey website under programs, or info. is on home page
gopherpucklive had listings and player info from last year and will undoubtly have updates after the selection process with names and score results as games are played. check the "future recruits" thread

District 16 has NOT selected kids or notified yet.
That will probably happen in the next two weeks sometime.
The local bantam coach may decide to sit on his players announcements to keep it from upsetting teh team.
Obviously, there are those kids everyone is pretty sure about.

there is no more '92 fire team anymore anyway. not enough people came to do it this year. lots of the old kids moved on to jv
