I believe that takes Burnsville out of a shot at District title doesn't it?KOHO wrote:Well where are the scores? Ep red, Burnsville? Apple Valley?
Burnsville-4, no hep
Apple Valley-4, HEP
KEYS
1.AV also hit the crossbar twice!
2. Burnsville gave up a soft 2nd goal
3. Burnsville lost their cool and was tired
4. AV did a good job staying out of the box cause I think the 2-3 times they where in there B'Ville looked solid.
SUMMARY
AV finally looked like the team again when they where HOT mid season. They played hard and showed they wanted this one. Burnsville was the faster team and probably more skilled though. Valley had the edge in goaltending though. Burnsville got into penalty trouble late when they had a very cheap check from behind. The player was ejected and another player served 5 min. for it. They also later picked up a minor shortly after. Burnsville got to be cheap near the end off the game and also appeared tired. First period was pretty even with no score both teams really had 1 very solid chance a piece that period. Second period it was 4-2 Burnsville after. Both teams got alot going, Burnsville's best period by far they controled the puck in the zone well. Third period Valley scored 2 to tie it at 4's for the final. Valley controlled this period well and really skated hard you could tell they really wanted to get after it. I don't remember if it was OT or very late in the 3rd when Valley should have scored one to put it away the goalie laying down and the player just didn't get the lift over him. Good game though these two teams meet again on Saturday hopefully its the same type of game.
I think that's all I got.

av-bv
the burnsville coach told me - as i already knew ( i could hear the goalie
screaming ) that the 3rd goal for BV - the net was off by 6" on 1 side,
but the way that game was - BV probably would have scored another anyway...
how about that puck laying 2" in front of the left pipe with no one in site
right near the end of overtime.....huge pile of kids from both sides
off to the right of it....AV certainly could have won it....
how about 6 on 3 ( pulled goaly for delayed penalty ) - that was just
crazy with intensity....
I think BV is really a good team, and i am a AV dad.
really proud of the effort all the kids gave tonight, that is hockey...
If you thought BV looked tired - i sure didn't see that - they certainly
looked "defensive" while holding that 4-3 lead late in the 3rd.....
but team speed - i would say BV takes the league.....they only
really have 1 big guy ( size wise ).

Beep, Beep, Beep
That is the sound of Tonka backing in to the #1 seed. Doubt it will be easy going forward from here.
Thanks Apple Valley and Mr. NoCon!
Great write up from our correspondent hockeyjunkie2

Re: av-bv
IT could have been that they where sitting back instead of tired but why not play the game you where playing it had you in the lead. It only gave Valley more chances late that they didn't need to give them. And thanks sonofblueblood I try my best, I should have the same Saturday I think I'm going to be there.noConsistancy wrote:the burnsville coach told me - as i already knew ( i could hear the goalie

Re: av-bv
I do know that their #9 that was ejected had scored 2 goals and not sure
if he also got an assist.
He wasnt big - but man he hustled.
He was stunned in the penalty box and really stunned when they told
him he had to leave the arena.
but i agree - in keeping with the same thing you normally do - offense !
but just like the Vikings - every team seems to jump into prevent defense
when the opp is on the attact and your ahead. coaches make millions in pro sports - but they usually play prevent with the lead near the end...
But i sure thought i saw a boxing match tonight where the scoring
opportunities went back and forth.
athleticism on ice...
love it...

EP also still has a shot at 2nd. Burnsville has to win against AV and BV will be short a player (ejected for cheapshot in tonights game). They lost their HEP point so they only got 1 point tonight and are down by 2 (could be a costly HEP point that they lost tonight). A loss by BV and EP Red takes 2nd in league play. BV owns the tiebreaker so a win by BV with or without HEP and they have 2nd. Should be a fun battle with Apple Valley.EagleGuy91 wrote:Red locked up 3rd with a win . . .
EP Red 4 (+1)
Edina White 2 (+1)

well D6 here - but i have seen WoodBlue and they looked really strong,
aren't they ranked 2nd behind wayzata blue on letsplayhockey.com ?
I saw the greatest thing this year - i think we scrimmaged the white team and they had a defense guy with 1 hand - and he dominated play.
great shot he had.
I heard a rumor that he then made JV for someone ?
that had to hurt that white team...

It was a great game.

Koho, Blueblood
So we brothers are clear - by "backing in" I meant - Tonka had the chance to "Win and be in" - they didn't. In tieing Chaska they lost the ability to control their destiny.
When AV and Bville tied, and Bville lost the HEP point, Tonka "backed in", that is all. My apologies if that was not clear.
I know the record, seen most of the games. I think we all know that this team plays to the level of its competition right now, and needs to alter the trend or it will be achallenge to live up to their strong D6 record.

WBBL 9-1-3 12 Happy points for 33 total 3 games remaining
WBOR 10-1-2 10 Happy points for 32 total 3 games remaining
Should be interesting. No team can loose 1 now, even a tie would change the seedings.
WBOR 11-1-2 11 Happy points for 35 total 2 games remaining. WBOR beat FL 5-3 in a good game, forest Lake is coming around up 3-0 at 1 point.
Wow the board has been quiet.
Looks like 3 district 6 games left
Tonight E.P Black vs Chaska
With a win and a hep point Ep Black could challenge Burnsville for third.
Chaska wins they stay in 5th. Chaska loses and no hep Edina Green takes 5th.
Tommorrow-Burnsville vs Apple Valley
Burnsville needs two points to take second
Apple Valley is probably safe, but one or two points will gaurantee playoffs.
Edina White vs Prior Lake
Winner advances Loser is done for the season
