Wayzata Bantam A record
41-5-2 prior to State Tournament. 44-5-2 after the State Tournament. Not certain whether they are playing in VFW next weekend or not.

They will not be playing in VFW this year.

How many of the teams that were at the Minnesota Hockey State Tourney are also VFW teams? I know Duluth East, Rochester, and Bemidji are the only ones in both tourneys this year, but did the others not make it? ...or do they just not have a VFW sponsor?

Apple Valley forfeited in the VFW tournament final because three of their players were injured in the previous game and they didn't want to risk anymore.

Wayzata, Rochester and DE are the 3 teams that impressed me most all year, Rochester has a tough road to the ship, and will get there, but will not have enough left for Wayzata.
If only my NCAA bracket were this clean!
Congrats to Wayzata and to all of the teams that made it. Wayzata vs Av and Roch vs DE must have been great games to watch.

So I have been following this thread and was curious on how the whole experience in TRF turned out? So was all that bickering about the hotels/banquet/and playing at the Huck as bad as it sounded?

"Mark, Thanks to D 16 and Thief River for hosting a great Bantam A tournament!! Our boys lost a bit of their fire after losing to Wayzata in round 1 but that's hockey.. You asked at the banquet for feedback on tourney locations. I like going outstate, especially to these old hockey towns with rich history, I must have walked around the Ralph 5 times."

I was there on Sunday. All I heard was great things from Parents.

TRF should be proud of all the work they put into this successful event.

These tournaments should be held outstate as much as in the metro. Mix it up.

Don't they mix it up every other year? For example, won't the Peewee A be out state next year and the Bantam A in state?

Yes, in 1990 the rotation was set between Gold & Marroon regions to alternate the peewee and bantam.
Since then the B level and girls tournaments ahve been put on rotation also.

How far out are they booked? Do we know where next years Bantam A and Peewee A tournaments will be?

Bantam A State

Post by philip18 »

The TRF hockey people did a great job, working late into Friday night, at making sure the little Ralph was available for the Sat and Sun games. The Huck was also a great place to play. There were some problems for some people with hotels. Some teams had to split up and a couple had to stay in marginal type hotels. The people in town and the TRF hockey people were great! I also thought the officials did a very good job. I would recommend TRF again as a very memorable place for the boys to play.

year 2015

2010 bantam A is District 1 - they should have it assigned by mid-June if not earlier (perhaps already)
peewee A is District 4
bantam and peewee b is D16
girls 14 A B 12 A b
