Must be. Guess OMG is a bit snakebit. They had 4 tap ins on their last Powerplay that hit pipes and whatnot.

OMG 4 Buffalo 2 final.

OMG definitely had more scoring chances but Buffalo hung with them for most of the game. It was 3-2 with less than 5 minutes left. OMG seemed tight to me, and I think Buffalo's physical play affected them at times. Buffalo's goalie played well but I agree, he was lucky on a few shots.

Woodbury beat Burnsville 3-0 in the East Region. Outshot Bville 40-12. Woodbury looked really good. Bville looked tired and beat!

South Region:

OMG 10
Faribault 2

Faribault went up 1-0 and then all OMG. Speed, powerplay, and puck movement was impressive from this squad.

good win for Burnsville, they finish Friday 1-1, and beat the team that dumped their next opponent. Burnsville will play only 1 game on Saturday and finish 2-1. Well rested they will be prepared to win one game on Sunday for a state berth. Good luck, that #2 seed has it's bennys.

prediction : b'ville and woodbury go to state.

South Region:

Albert Lea 4
Buffalo 3

Buffalo led 2-0 after one, but overall they didn't come to play like they did against OMG. Albert Lea wanted it more. Goalie wasn't as sharp either; shots were 30-19 Buffalo.

Mo,

From what I saw 6-0 was a nice win, don't know what game you were watching.

Woodbury beats irondale 6-0. 2-0 on Friday. Play River Heights tomorrow afternoon to get #1 seed.
Burnsville beats River Heights for inside track to #2 seed.

Minnetonka looked good tonight versus Mpls Park. Apple Valley gets beat by Eagan. Minnetonka/Eagan game tomorrow late morning will be a great game. I give the edge to Minnetonka - more depth. If Eagan's top players play well - if they play the body - they could make it a game!!

Most likely scenarios for Sunday are
Woodbury #1 Red versus #2 Blue Eagan
Minnetonka #1 Blue versus #2 Red Burnsville

Woodbury and Minnetonka to State!!

South Region

Some action from the South Region today:

Wayzata 2
Hopkins 1

Buffalo 8
Faribault 7

OMG 6
Albert Lea 1

Hopkins pulled goalie with 1:17 and had a number of chances to convert. The second seed coming out of the Red Pool is a little complicated with Buffalo, Faribault, and Albert Lea all going 1-2. OMG went 3-0 in pool play and will find out their opponent after Wayzata plays New Prague and Hopkins plays Mound. Mound is out.

Woodbury beats Eagan 4-2 to get East #1 seed.
Burnsville beats Minnetonka 2-1 to get East #2 seed.

Woodbury outshot Eagan 43-17, beating them 3-0 after 2. Eagan came out and scored 2 goals with 4 minutes remaining to make it close. Woodbury gets empty net goal to win for the 4th time over Eagan this year and advance to State tourney!!

Burnsville controlled play against Minnetonka to earn the #2 seed.

Very good games today!

Not real shocking.. Rapids played East tough all year. East got out skated, out hit and out hearted. Rapids looked very very good. Potential for the championship.

Cloquet will be a longshot at the tourny, but is not a team that should be overlooked. Good speed, excellent team play and solid goal tending. and remember that they beat both East and GR last weekend. These were the two best teams today.
