Bantam Elite League

Post by BantamElite » Fri Aug 09, 2013 3:38 pm

We are happy to announce a great new Invite Only League for next Summer.

Details about the League can be found here:

http://www.bantamelite.com

Invites to the League will be posted a week from Monday, August 19. Players not invited, can tryout in September for remaining spots in the league.

We have several verbals from the top players from Minnesota (those will be denoted on the site next week when the invites are announced).

Questions regarding the League can be directed to: bantamelite@gmail.com

Interesting. Who is behind this? Can a kid play in this league and association?

Kind of looks a lot like Choice Bantams.

The games are sandwiched between the conclusion of the Select 15 and Summer Sports (Mid July) and Association Tryouts (End of September).

It is not affiliated with MN Made.

The League will have paid administrators, coaches, and a private advisory board. We already have an impressive list of players committed to play next year.

Very comical.

"Invite only league"

But we'll let 80 kids tryout so that we can get the money rolling.....?

The tryout cost is $12. $2 goes to NGIN fees. The rest goes to cover the cost of ice and coaches to run the practice.

If a player/parent requests a refund after the tryout we will happily give it.

We have a comprehensive process for choosing players and coaches. Our $12 tryout will reflect it.

Not a "Invite Only League" then, right?

What percentage of the players will come from the tryouts?

Could be a GREAT thing for Minnesota Hockey if it's run correctly.. :D

80+ will be Invited prior to tryout.

The remaining invites will be earned through the tryout process.

Ballpark 80-20, the exact # of invites is still being determined.

The current list of accepted pre-invites is impressive.

Give some names or the whole accepted pre-invite list, so I know where my kid is at in comparison, or if he remotely has a chance.

Looking at the web site it is taking kids with birthdays from 7/99 to 6/00. That would make the kids first year Bantams. What about the late 98's and early 99's?

Names will be published next Monday (including a handful of pre-accepted kids). At that point if your son's name is on the list he has a month to decide if he wants to play. If it is not on the list, he will have a month to decide if he wants to try out.

I Can't believe that you did not include A.P. from Lakeville South, 99' Machine as an invite let alone in your top 10. Honestly he would be my top pick. I always thought he was a late 99', even though LS got smart and moved him up to Bantams last year. No I am not his dad or from LS, just surprised...

AP was left off mostly because he has never competed at this level with his peers. If his parents would like him to participate, we will make room for him in this League. Email address is bantamelite@gmail.com.

No doubt his skill, size and shot warrant a slot in our league.

Who owns this League? and who will run this league?

is this a private league? or backed by USA/MN Hockey like the 15's/16's/17's?

The league is operated by an independent private business (and it's investors). We are not affiliated with a AAA program, training facility, or hockey related entity. We started the BEL because we thought there would be demand for a league of this kind.

Boom! Your thinking was probably correct. Why didn't someone think of it sooner. Best of luck.

We missed a good question in there: No, this League is not sanctioned by USAH.

As of today, we have filled 67 of the 80 tryout spots. A player can choose to take one or two spots.

The 10 goalie slots are filled.

This will be a very average league. If it even gets going! It is just the Iceman guys (AJ and Zach) trying to play off like they are part of the High School Elite League. That's why they never said who they were. Ha!

Just try to put a few more dollars in their pockets.

Maybe that is why they kept their names double secret.
