Johnson/Como Co-op with North Saint Paul

Johnson/Como now has co-oped with North Saint Paul and will field "A" teams.

Rumor has it they will play "A" Bantams in District 8 and "A" Squirts and "A" Pee Wee's in District 2.

Isn't north st paul bringing in the hockey school so shouldn't they be able to go AA and A or does the hockey school want to play down

According to what I've heard, the intent is for Bauer-Emerson to have their own team within the NSP association at each of the non-T1 levels for their students only. Could be bad info and didn't hear what level they will play at. Anyone know if this is accurate?

I could see D2 allowing that because they are down to 3 AA programs as it is. It won't be long before BAA/Pee-wee AA goes to a "metro" district. Much like J-Gold does.

I don't know that D2 will have much to say. In general District 2 has not gotten involved in how associations choose the members of their teams other than to say that multiple teams at the same level must be even strength. Thus if NSP chooses a process that puts all B-E kids on the same team it will likely not be interfered with by D2.

Seems to be working well for both associations at the bantam level. Neither fielded an A team last year and both teams went to state at the B1 level. Glad the decided to "play up" for the sake of D8 B1 teams.
