give roseau a break if wayzata wouldn't had the ref's with them roseau would of stayed with them the whole game which probably would of went into overtime. But I hope wayzata is not cheering because they won it because they didn't the ref's won for them you just don't get 6 goles for penalty kill. goodnight wayzta from a someone standing in the stand your going to get wiped out good luck eden prairie.

What happened in the games for Edina against EP and Roseau.

Game against EP, Edina dominated 2 periods of the game. Most people dont realize this, but Eden Prarie's best player isnt Rau, Faust, McCartan (Although these guys are good). It is there goalie Ford. All the 5 games against Edina he has stopped over 25 shots. About 50% of the shots Edina took were shots that would have most likely gone in on any other goalie. But congrats on the State Title EP

Roseau game was all Edina for 40 minutes of the game only about 5 minutes was Roseau in the game. There goalie played good though. the shots were 44 to 18 in favor of Edina.

But overall congrats to everyone in the state tourney it was a fun season overall.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ystud27 at: 3/20/06 5:47 pm

WOW!
The first round winners outscored opponents 31-2. Was it really that lopsided?

Congratualtions to Grand Rapids for getting the Consolation winner over a very tough and outstanding Duluth East club and as well beating a very tenacious and skilled Lakeville South team on Saturday. The boys played great hockey this weekend other than the 4 goal outburst against Wayzata in the third period of Friday nights game. Getting come from behind wins over both Lakeville South and Duluth East. Congrats on a nice finish to a fine season.

Grand Rapids Peewee A

Post by Gray Mullet » Mon Mar 20, 2006 7:44 am

I watched the little "smurfs" from Grand Rapids play this weekend and came away very impressed with the two come from behind victories to get the consolation winner. As well the kids played Wayzata tough for 2 periods before Wayzata snuffed out the smurfs in the third period as they lookd to be just too big and strong for the Rapids team to counter. Congratualtions to Grand Rapids peewee A team for playing so well at state and rebounding from what must have been a dissapointing loss to a great team in Wayzata. Congrats to Lakeville South and Duluth East as well for very good seasons.

I had heard that the Ford's are moving to Washington (state, I believe). If so, EP is losing its "stud" goalie and someone in Washington is getting him! Congratulations to EP on finishing up on a terrific season.

The Peewee State tournament was a very fun weekend. Other than Eden Prarie and Wayzata clearly who have proven to be the number 1 and 2 teams in the state. The remaining field is more than likely very close competitively speaking with Edina, Roseau, Duluth East, Lakeville South and Grand Rapids very close as their records and games would indicate. I really liked the level of play and many kids from each team were fun to see in action. Congrats on a great season kids you were fun to watch this past weekend.

Edina might outshot Roseau but the score was 2 to 2 when roseau went down to edina's net but got taken down to the ice which should of been a penalty shot but then again the ref's called the game one more time. The player that did it knows what he did and got lucky. Roseau could of won. Don't knock Roseau they played Tough all weekend but they got screwed the refing and everbody knows it.

and anyway i remember that play the kid from Roseau was leaning backwards and holding on to the Edina players stick thats why they didnt call it but if he didnt do that then the ref would have called it a penalty

If I remember right the ref did call a penality on the play you are talking about. I thought the refing in the edina game was ok except for the non-call in the last 2 min of the game when Omdahl got hauled down going to the net for a pass. When the ref had just given roseau a penality on a hook about 45 seconds earlier. Now if were talking about the Wayzata game Roseau did get the shaft in that one. And I'm not saying Roseau would have won just that the ref didn't let the teams decide the game in this one. Kind of funny that the next day after the ref was done with the his game he went into the stands and sat with the Wayzata Asst. coaches and watched the Edina Roseau game.
