Didn't look like a team that is hungry! Might be reading their press clipping? Great teams get more sweeps than splits, especially late in the year.

So disappointing!
At home in an important game/series... against a top ten team and you need every point at this time...
There was absolutely no urgency!

Gophers have not had a sweep since early in season. They need to wake up and utilize their talent! Top end kids are not pulling eight at all!

Disappointing!

Huge sigh of relief. Through two it was getting a little nerve racking.

Nice PP goal for Bjugstad. Needed that. personally & team wise...

Nice win for Gophers. Pairwise remains same, Gophers still #2 in pairwise. They even gained one point last night with loss... weird...

Didn't see the game but Don must have chewed some butt after the 1st period. Hopefully they got the message and can run the table to another championship. St Cloud choked and now the Gophers will win the WCHA.

Congrats to the Gophers for winning the league title. St Cloud got a piece of it but couldn't get the job done two Sat nights in a row!

Funny thing, Wikipedia had recorded the St. Cloud/Minnesota share of the 2012/2013 title, well before either of their games (Or UND's) were over.

Bad bounce off glass and Marshall overskates Puck. Helgy cant figure out weitd Puck flip. No one covering front of net. Goal...

41 shots. 1 goal. Cant finish! Cant finish as I type this... Isaakson all alone... Man...

Did not have good feel on Friday again. Love these kids. Want a 2 game series...

Thank you Kyle Rau!
Man BSU goalie played great. Still Gophers need to finish better. But I suppose there are many that could say that and would love to be #2 in pairwise.

M I N N E S O T A... Minnesota Minnesota Yeah Gophers... RAU!

Nothing better than watching the Gophers beat the "team formally known as Fighting Sioux" in a hostile environment. I guess all those ND fans will have to cheer for CC now.

Wow
Gopher D have to get it together!

Parenteau had bad gap control on first
Alt has another bad turnover
Helgy gets his usual penalty

Got to regroup here. Look tentative. Gotta play tough hockey. Get Puck to net. Make goalie go left and right.

Not a good night at all... Hard to understand...
Turnovers. Catching a simple pass. Skating just a little harder. Effort.

I will say one thing, I really like Casey Hankinson as an analyst. He says it like it is. Was very critical of Gopher effort. And he was right.

Should still get #1 seed. Pairwaise wont move much.

I like Hankinson too, but McLeod is brutal.

I think it all boils down to a lack of focus. And them knowing they were already a #1 seed is probably the reason.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the gophers and North Dakota go to the Michigan bracket...

Agree with The Mailman, McLeod is a recycled sportscaster. Get some fresh blood. His 1970's sayings don't resonate with fans. Get some new material dude... ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Agreed. Myself, I still believe they, as in the past several years, have to much of a primadonna attitude for their own good.

I completely disagree...this team's best players work their ass off. if you dont see that then you dont get hockey. Nobody can question the work ethic of haula, bjugstad, and rau. Would we all like bjugstad to get more points...sure! But he works extremely hard out there. All hockey players are primadona's.

The gophers didn't play well, cc's goalie is hot right now, and they played like a team that had to win.

Cc beat Denver just to get here.
Mankato st lost to Wisconsin.
St. Cloud lost to Wisconsin
North Dakota lost to cc
And then the gophers lost to cc

Cc is playing well and especially their goalie. Same can be said about Wisconsin...

I never said they didn't "work their ass off", and I'll stand by my opinion until proven otherwise.

I'll also disagree with "all hockey players are primmadonnas,"

Primmadonnas put themselves before the team, to me, and that is still my opinion of what the Gopher problem is.

Always thought the WCHA was the best league, but after this years non conference results and now the results in the NCAA I am starting to wonder. Hope St Cloud and MSU fare better today.

As a season ticket holder the schedule just came out. I get to see the following at home:
Boston college (2)
Duluth (2)
Mankato st (2)
Ohio st (2)
Penn st (2)
Michigan st (2)
Michigan (2)
Wisconsin (2)
Ice breaker tourney
Mariucci classic

And the gophers play scsu in the first round of the mn tourney?

So wayoutwest...comments? Looks pretty good to me. I will take mich and mich st over Denver and cc. Then lets take Ohio st over mich tech and penn st over Alaska. All we seem to be missing is North Dakota. With the wcha schedule it's no guarantees u play everyone at home anyways. Oh yeah and the gophers travel to Bemidji.

Love it!!! Lets go Gophers!!!

Gophers continue to get commitments from some very good young men...

Norman - SSM
Novak - STA
Lindgren - SSM

Norman & Novak are both LW... Malmquist a LW too, does that mean no room...? Suppose that depends on who is still playing, and who has moved on to NHL... same dilemma every year, different names...

Thoughts on Gophers guys... Forum has been silent of late...
Fall coming soon! :D
