Looking forward to see how well these two guys transition to the college game.

Incoming Gophers hockey freshmen big on talent but short on size

Just read that Condon and Rau will be the captains of the 2013-14 men's hockey team. Good choice.

I heard Teague talking on CCO from the fair this morning. He mentioned the Gopher's Hockey team will have up to 4 games on the ESPN suite of channels this year. Probably ESPNU and ESPN2. Will be interesting to see if this is just a Big10 thing, or whether it will be teams from all conferences.

Got to assume Brodzinski locks up the 6th defenseman spot with Vannelli's announced departure.

You are probably right Body...

Disappointed that Vannelli will not put on the Gopher uni... Very good Dman! He would have definitely helped this team for the 2-3 years before he bolts for the Pros...

Maybe KeepYourHeadUp can chime in.

Who is the faster skater, Condon or Kloos? Both of these guys have incredible speed!

I'm looking forward to seeing Kloos for the first time in a Gopher uniform this weekend. If he does prove faster than Condon I'll be surprised!

Regarding Kloos and Condon, I would say they are very close in speed, Kloos is quicker though and his first step, so to speak, is world class.

Gopher fans are in for some real fun with him and Cammarata.

Was at the game last week. These two, along with the whole team started out rather shakey. But as the game wore on, they settled down and by the third period, were looking very comfortable. You can see their patience with the puck and they are always looking to pass around the net.

Another tid bit about the game. In my 40+ years of playing, coaching, and watching hockey, I have never heard or seen a face masking penalty called. In this game, I got to witness 3. Five minute major with a game misconduct. Every time there was a scrum in front of the net, a Lethbridge player would grab our guys helmet and rip it off.

The Gophers would be much better off scheduling the USA U18 team than these hack teams from Canada.

Congrats to Minnetonka's Steve Johnson on his commitment to the Gophers!

Wow do the gophers have some really nice speed!! They certainly aren't gonna be very aggressive this year though for people that want that.

I know it's only one weekend but not impressed with cammarta at all. And more impressed with fasching then expected.

Also mike Reilly might be the smoothest skating defenseman ever for the gophers.

The only guy who was hitting with any regularity and authority was Parenteau.

Cammarata showed flashes but he has a lot of adjusting to do. He also needs to hit the weight room in the off seasons.

And what poise and passing ability. Very doubtful we'll get to see him in a Gopher uniform all four years.

Have the Gophers ever had a better freshman class? We lost five players to the pros - all of whom would be seniors this year - but with the way the freshmen have stepped up you would never know it.

You may be right MN Fan, this is definitely a fun team to watch. Fast, move puck very well, use of DMen in Ozone has been very big, and we have some guys who find the net!

Dmen size and age in Dzone & PK is only concern so far, but Mr. Wilcox has also been stellar so far... as expected though...

Best freshman class, could be, but in dating myself, Brooks had a couple classes in late 70's that were very good! Just look at that 1980 Olympic team roster ( and those cut...!) for the those Gopher classes... :D

I would just like to say that I hate Notre Dame.

Sad thing is, I have no real reason for this either.

I've always hated them, and now I hate them even more with their tiny arse rink and freakin' obnoxious "golden dome" helmets. And dear GAWD is that rink ugly! Worst rink ever.

Sombody punch Rudy in the face out of principle.

I'd rather watch my Gophers lose 6-0 to the Susies than win 4-1 against Notre Dame. #Don'tHateThePlayerHateNotreDame.

/end rant until I see those cornholes on tv again.
Sorry, fresh out, Don't Really Give Any.
