Amazing what a new coach can do. (Just ask the Wild!)
For sure. Granato has them heading the right way. I know he was always introduced that he was from Downers Grove, IL but didn't he play in Minnesota as a high school kid?

Entertaining game. Not the result I was hoping for though.

We'll see you again tomorrow night.

Strange weekend. I thought the Gophers deserved to win on Friday and Wisconsin was the better team on Saturday. But of course, the opposite happened on both nights. I guess that is why they play the game.

What adjustments did Wisc make on Saturday after the 2nd period? To me, the Gophers controlled the first 4 periods of this weekend, but something changed, and Wisconsin took over the 2nd and 3rd periods on Saturday night.

Not really sure what the difference was. We had a few people over that night so I missed quite a bit of the game.

All three Wisco coaches played at Burnsville in the early 80's.

Don Granato played at Burnsville after moving up from Illinois for high school, but Tony did not.

It drives me crazy to read how Lucia was happy about the teams performance in the semifinal game against Penn State. They were outshot 63-40 and looked terrible in the first couple of periods. Numerous times it looked like Penn State was on the PP even though they were playing 5 on 5.

I just don't see this team peaking at the end of the year, which seems like a reoccurring theme year after year. If Don doesn't get this team to the final four, it's time for a new coach!

I doubt the Gophs will get a better coach than Don but I imagine they will move on someday.

The Gophers will always be good, but why can't they play their best at the end of the year?
