Sandelin ?

Post by shutout »

Just wondering if the Duluth fans are mentioning anything about Sandelin's future?

Last season they start the year ranked #1 and tank it. Now this season they are going in the tank again. I would think that getting swept by Mankato would have to be hitting rock bottom, but losing the two games by a five and six goal margin has got to hurt! And if I am not mistaken they had a rough weekend against the always powerful Michigan Tech last weekend.

The fans in North Dakota that were pissed when the Sioux replaced Blais with Hasktol instead of bringing Sandelin back are pretty quiet these days!

Tough times for the program. Considering how many freshmen they have on the team this year, the idea that they're "tanking" this season has little merit, shutout. Losing Rosehill unexpectedly hurt them, also.

The defense needs to get better but they're thin back there. Isaac appears to have peaked as a sophomore. No way for anybody to predict that, was there?

Sandelin isn't going anywhere for awhile. They have some very good freshman talent (Gergen, Raymond & Carroll for starters). They have Stalock coming in next year and he might be needed to step in earlier than expected; no idea what the deal is with Josh Johnson, but a trip over to www.umdpenaltybox.com might give a clue.

At this point, I'm hoping for them to play spoiler from here out, especially against the Golden Rats.

They'll be better next year. Guaranteed. I mean, as guaranteed as a couple of Rapids fans whining that they got shafted in the seedings if they don't get the top seed they "deserve"

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Egomaniac since 2006

Some of those freshman UMD has now won't play out their full eligibility and the guys they have coming in next year are nothing special. Stalock is good but he'll find out quickly that his roaming style won't cut it in college.

Sandelin has had one good year as a head coach. UMD blew their wad and overpaid for the guy because of it. Now they are stuck with a mediocre coach.

East hockey:

Why do they have so many freshman on the team? What happened to the upper classmen that Sandelin has recruited?

I have been hearing rumbles that Sandelin and Rholik are not seeing eye to eye these days. Anyone know anything about this situation?

Sandelin is getting his butt handed to him by other coaches these days. He can't even coax a decent effort out the Bulldogs. He is fortunate UMD signed him to a long deal so he has job security. Cause he would be canned quick if he coached at a big time program

Lee:

After watching the series this weekend I think your hope for the dogs to be a spoiler is a stretch to say the least. Sandelin has to be very grateful that he signed a deal. The Bulldog fans have got to be questioning his ability. It's not like UMD is a difficult place to recruit.
