I suppose if Jeff Dubay gets a thread the World Series deserves one.

Some of the Minnesota ties to this World Series:

- Chris Coste, catcher for the Phillies is a native of Fargo and played his college baseball at Concordia College in Moorhead before joining the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the Northern League and eventually played 11 years of Minor League Baseball before playing in his first MLB game.

- Ben Zobrist, utility player for the Rays who got the start in right field for game one, played for the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League in 2003 while he was in college. The Minnesota-based league has teams in Duluth, Brainerd, St. Cloud, Rochester, Alexandria, and Mankato.

Not to mention these guys you may remember:
- Jason Bartlett, Rays
- Matt Garza, Rays
- Grant Balfour, Rays
- J.C. Romero, Phillies

Good game last night.

Is it just me or does Tim McCarver talk too much?

Does anyone West of Punxatawny or Tampa even aware the World Series has started or is everyone else only worried about whether or not their team has the loot for CC Sabathia or Manny??

How bout' dem Twins go out and pony up some dough and bring in a real #1 in Sabathia. At least take a chance. You didn't pay Johan, can we pay this guy?

It will be a good WS with 2 very good teams going at it.

We will see some dominant pitching but also some good hitting.

Both teams can flash some leather.

Interesting, much has been made of the Garza, Bartlet/Young trade and about how TB really stuck it to the Twins.

Garza was 11-9 with a 3.70 ERA.The Twins already have 5 of him.

Bartlet is missed at SS and more than I figured but he hit .285 with 1 HR and 37 RBI... the Twins already have way too many of him.

The only former Twin who would have put them in the playofs now with TB is Grant Belfour.

But it will be a good world series and probably go 6-7 games.

I like these kind of WS. Just 2 good teams playing good baseball instaed of the circus that is Manny, Steinbrenner and that crap.

I'm just thrilled that Jason Bartlett got us all a free taco.

It'll be nice to spend the evening in the restroom for a reason other than Mrs. Govs' cooking.

Rays took Game Two tonight by the score of 4-2 over the Phillies. James Shields was in control for much of the game for the Rays and the Rays bullpen took it from there holding on for the 4-2 win. The Phillies scored their two runs after the Rays were already up 4-0 in the late innings. Game Three will take place on Saturday in Philadelphia as 46 year old Jamie Moyer will face off against ALCS MVP Matt Garza. It also looks like weather could come into play on Saturday.

Its been good baseball without the side show that accompanies some of the other teams that usually play in October.

I like watching good pitching but the Philies have had some bad ABs with RISP.

You 'd think advantage Rays in Game 3 the way Garza has been pitching.

It could turn quick.

If they win tonight its back home for 2.

The Phillies big guns turned it around , TB could too.

Say, wouldn't it be great if 2 years from now, the Twins were in the World Series and playing in their new satdium on a day like we had yesterday?

Remember the Twins of '87 and '91.

From what I've been told, it would be just like sitting at the Met (except with a big ol' HD scoreboard).

I was 7 when closed (ya old fart  ), so I don't have a great recollection of any time there. Vaguely remember a couple of moments from a Twins game or two.
