"Sometimes you fell like a nut sometimes you don't" that was a catchy one and appropriate for this crew.

Does anyone remember how the A & W drive in jingle went?

Speaking of Drive in's "lets all go to the snackbar, repeat over and over again, while showing dancing Hot dogs, popcorn and drinks
I have to confess...

I own a DVD of drive-in intermission movies, and another one (actually, it's a 3 disc set) of "classic commercials" from the 50's and 60's. I find that stuff fascinating.

Speaking of Red Owl (horrible segue - I know), one of my earliest childhood memories was entering a coloring contest that the Red Owl on Wheelock Parkway (the old Phalen Shopping Center) was holding. I remember that the picture they gave you had an airplane on it, and I tried to use the silver crayon on it, and I went outside the line so I got pissed because the silver crayon will cover up the black lines on the picture. I threw a fit, but mom brought me to the store to turn it in anway... and they gave me the Snickers bar for entering despite my lousy looking airplane.

Moms are good people.

And the classic:

My bologna has a first name,
it's O-S-C-A-R
My bologna has a second name,
it's M-A-Y-E-R
Oh, I love to eat it every day
and if you ask me why I'll saaaaaaaay

Cause Oscar Mayer has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A

There was a round Red Owl grocery store by the Brookdale Mall - mom use to shop there and left us in the car......with the windows cracked of course. I use to hurl insults at the people leaving the store.

Then of course we would take off and go explore the store to let Mom know that Greg was picking on me.

How about this classic:

Let Hertz put you in the drivers seat...today

Then the guy was flying thru the air and landing in the front seat of a convertible.

Big time special effects.
